‘Narcos’ Season 2 Set to Premiere in August; Upcoming Season Rumored to be the Last for the Netflix Hit Series

Newman says that right now, they are taking full advantage of Wagner’s talent and ability to portray Escobar so that “Narcos” Season 2 will be remembered by many.

With this, some reports claim that with the death of Escobar comes the death of the show as well. Newman shared that the future of the show is still in the shadows.

However, it is unlikely to be cancelled as the show has been receiving a lot of acclaim and recognition. It was nominated for the Best Television Series in the drama category during the 2016 Golden Globe awards along with Moura’s nomination for Best Actor in a Drama TV Series.

The crime-thriller is also nominated for Best Drama TV Series in the upcoming Satellite Awards. The event will be held on February 21 at InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

The producers of “Narcos” say that the first season consisted of information and a lot of setting up. Now, they actually get to play a lot more with the characters and the story itself.

It is also unknown yet how many episodes the second season will comprise although it is highly speculated that it will contain 10 episodes. Season 1 of the Netflix hit series comprised 10 episodes.
