“Mob Wives” has been surrounded by a mix of news lately, some positive, some not so much – it was just announced that Angela Raiola has been diagnosed with throat cancer. According to reports, the tumor is actually quite large, and it’s even been claimed that the star can currently no longer speak because of her condition. It’s not known if it’s actually life threatening or not, but judging by these reports, it certainly doesn’t sound good.
Physicians have reportedly attributed the condition to the most obvious cause – the fact that the actress has been smoking for the last four decades. She’s apparently quite fond of her cigarettes, and this has sadly probably contributed heavily to the development of her tumor.
She’s currently scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor, and according to her, the cancer was discovered early enough that there is a chance it can be beaten. Hopefully, she’ll make a recovery and continue her great work, because she currently has a large number of fans who absolutely love her contributions to the show.
Her co-stars have been very supportive as well, many of them expressing their strong support for their colleague and wishing her a fast and successful recovery. There have also been reports of special events being held in support of Angela Raiola, and all in all, there has been a lot of attention towards her current situation, which is certainly a good thing.
Raiola also had some inspiring things to say to her fans, reminding them to always be vigilant about keeping their health in a perfect condition, and never ignoring the signs of something potentially bad. She considers herself “fortunate and blessed” for the fact that the cancer was discovered so early, and she sounded generally hopeful about her recovery, judging from her Facebook post.
Currently, there have been no reports about how this will affect the actress’s role on “Mob Wives”. If the claims about her losing her voice are true, then she will definitely not be able to work on the show soon. On the hand, her throat surgery could further complicate things.
Hopefully though, she’ll be back on the set soon. In the end, the writers of the show could come up with a way to implement her condition into the story if she wants to resume playing sooner. It won’t be the first time something like this has happened with a TV production, and it could even bring an interesting new angle to the series. In the end though, it’s entirely Raiola’s own decision whether or not she wants to continue playing on the show in her current situation, and certainly not many people would.
