The fifth instalment of the widely popular action film Mission Impossible, starring, Tom Cruise, is expected to hit US theatres on 25th December, 2015.
Fans are ecstatic after official news about Mission Impossible 5 was announced by Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman. Christopher McQuarrie is set to pilot the project with Drew Pearce (scriptwriter of Iron Man 3) and Will Staples (scriptwriter for video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3) working on the script. Tom Cruise will be producing Mission Impossible 5 alongside J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
Tom Cruise comes back as IMF agent Ethan Hunt. The other cast includes Jeremy Renner in the shoes of William Brandt, Ving Rhames playing Luther Stickell and Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn. Sean Harris, Rebecca Ferguson, Zhang Jingchu and Simon McBurney are also part of Mission Impossible 5.
Filming for Mission Impossible 5 started in Vienna, Austria on 21st August. After wrapping up shoot in Austria, the cast members moved to Morocco and then London. The London segment of the shoot for Mission Impossible 5 was wrapped up in September.
Tom Cruise was spotted in Morocco and Monaco, during the shoot of Mission Impossible 5. He was spotted in Monaco with his friend Wade Eastwood, who is also the stunt-coordinator of MI5. They were seen chatting and having a blast while trying their hands on flying a helicopter. They mingled with the airport staff and appeared to be having a great time.
Tom Cruise talked about performing his stunts on his own on The Graham Norton Show. He is doing all his MI5 stunts alone while Wade Eastwood is helping out the other actors on the sets of Mission Impossible 5.
Mission Impossible 5’s forerunner, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol has earned more than $700 million internationally and is considered to be Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing film to date. Tom Cruise started off the hit franchise with Mission Impossible and since then each of them has done good business.
Much remains to be disclosed about the plot of the film. The young actress, Rebecca Ferguson has been spotted doing some death-defying stunts in the film, as the leading lady. Sean Harris of Prometheus fame is being regarded as a villain, but nothing has been revealed yet.
Those who know Christopher McQuarrie’s handiwork will know that he grounds his plots in reality while adding thrilling twists and turns in them. With Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames being Mission Impossible staples along with Tom Cruise, critics will have their eyes on the young Rebecca Ferguson to see how she holds her own in a male-dominated action packed spy film.
