Microsoft and Sony would initially launch new consoles after every six years. However, given the competition that gap has come down to a few years and the gamers aren’t complaining. Sony might have revealed Ps4 Pro already, but it is facing a lot of glitches, and if Microsoft can launch Xbox Scorpio on schedule then they can significantly benefit from the current scenario.
The console is expected to see a launch before Christmas 2017. Phil Spencer said that it is unlikely for companies to talk about their upcoming product this early, but Microsoft is looking at it from their customer’s perspective.
The faster the customers know what they can expect from an upcoming console, the easier it is for them to decide whether they would invest in a console immediately, or wait for Project Scorpio to launch. Microsoft will also talk to the developers and reveal the games that are likely to appear on the console.
This move on Microsoft’s part is a way to stop gamers from purchasing the PS 4 Pro and wait for their high-end Xbox Scorpio. With Nintendo Switch also line up for a release, the delay in Project Scorpio will enable Microsoft to incorporate all the feedbacks that the users provide for the other consoles already released in the market.
