The Japanese video game developer and publisher announced their entry into PlayStation 4 back in December. Soon after, Capcom announced that they are working on new versions of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Game Spot announced that Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite would release on Xbox One and PC on 7th March.
The PS4 version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will launch after that. Reports suggest that the game will be available for $25. The same price will hold true for all the three versions of the video game.
Players can also get their hands on the physical editions of the Xbox One and PS4. These will be available via GameStop and would be a little more expensive. Since these are limited editions, they will be priced at $30 and will have a cover art and an exclusive comic.
The comic was developed by Marvel’s Gerardo Sandoval and Sean Chen and will show the most iconic characters from Marvel and Capcom universe. Players can get a glimpse of the cover art on the Capcom blog.
In the meantime, Capcom has announced that they are already working on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Sony announced the game at PlayStation Experience 2016 and reports suggest that the game will be released in 2017.
Sony’s press conference started with a video from Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. The trailer at the event opened with Mega Man and Ryu fighting it against Iron Man. Ryu and Mega Man fire together and Ryu is shown to run in while charging up. The two even end up grabbing the Infinity Stones.
iTech Post reported that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will bring in the angle of the Infinity Stones. Players will get the option to pick the stones up during a battle and improve their fighting power. Each player will get a different set of power-ups depending on the stones that they get.
Rumors suggest that the Time Stone will provide a temporary speed boost to the players while Power Stone will help them damage their opponent.
The Infinity Stones play a significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they also link back to the Marvel Super Heroes in the Capcom Universe. The players try and collect the stones to boost their fighting skills.
The trailer next brings in Captain Marvel. She goes on to join Iron Man. Captain Marvel is a character who hasn’t had a lot of importance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is set to have a movie in 2019, but that is still at the development level.
Civil War II gave Captain Marvel’s story a bizarre turn of events. Now Marvel is trying to rebuild her position since they want to sell her to the audience.
The trailer ended with the confirmation that the game will be out on PS4, Xbox One and PC by 2017. Players can expect the first glimpse of the gameplay at the Capcom Cup.
Mobile N Apps reported that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite might see Capcom limiting the team size. Previously the game would have three characters per team, but in the sixth installment of Marvel vs. Capcom, Capcom will limit the team to two members.
This news didn’t go down well with the fans. They feel that Capcom’s decision doesn’t do any good to the game. It limits the scope of the game during a time when different consoles are coming in.
These consoles offer better graphics and gaming experience and limiting the action of the game by curbing the number of participants would restrict the potential of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
