While he has been quoted in an interview early this year that he is essentially retired from acting, former child star Macaulay Culkin still takes on various occasional acting gigs, most notably the very recent Compare the Meerkat TV advertisement, an unorthodox remake of the Arabian Nights’ tale “Aladdin” by Adam Green, and a web series featuring the life of an Uber driver.
In between his short acting gigs or cameo appearances, Culkin disclosed that he is now spending his free time as a roadie.
He said that he is a big fan of jumping on people’s tour buses and make himself useful doing load-ins and outs after he decided to step back from acting a few years back, reports the Independent of UK.
Culkin also said that inasmuch as he wanted to avoid the limelight while living in New York City, he has been taking a walks at between two to four in the morning just to avoid the paparazzi.
He also shuttles to and from New York to Paris in France where he normally experiences less intrusion into his privacy.
The “Home Alone” actor explained that home is where his boots are. He said he does everything except the merch table. But he did try at one point, where he was not able to sell anything at all.
Up until this year, Macaulay Culkin also performed with his parody rock group called as the Pizza Underground, which parodies the songs of The Velvet Underground rock group by changing the lyrics to include pizza themes.

At 35 years of age, Macaulay Culkin has been through a lot in his life including being excommunicated by his greedy father, getting hooked on drugs, and also surviving an odd internet death hoax, notes Moviepilot.
Over the past few years, Culkin seems to have done a complete turnaround of his life after going through the pits for quite a while.
While he may not be as prolific as an actor as he was when he was still little, Macaulay Culkin is still capable of holding his own in the acting department.
Critics believe that Macaulay Culkin deserves to be happy in his life the way his Kevin McCallister character in “Home Alone” was a happy young person.
Fans respond to Macaulay in an abnormal way
Even after he retired from acting and went under the radar some years ago, Macaulay Culkin was still very popular during his early 20s. This was confirmed no less by actress Mila Kunis, whom Macaulay Culkin dated from 2002 to 2010, during a recent interview with Howard Stern on Sirius XM radio show.
Mila Kunis said that fans responded in a very abnormal way to Macaulay Culkin which is why it is very difficult to deal with the former “Home Alone” child actor every time they are in public together.
She said that Macaulay was huge because she cannot walk down the street with him. He always had a weird kind of attraction from his fans. They just screamed and they did not know how to react.
Fans of Kevin McCallister are way too overzealous that they seem not able to get over him at all despite the fact that “Home Alone” happened more than 10 years ago then.
The “Bad Moms” actress said that fan adulation to Macaulay Culkin was not a normal response to a celebrity.
Howard Stern pulled off a tough question for Mila Kunis during the interview on his radio show when he asked if she has ever loved Macaulay Culkin enough to marry him.
Kunis said she does not know actually but she said that when they started dating when she was about 16, she already told her father that she does not believe in marriage.
