Luke Hemmings and 5SOS Savoring Success of Europe-UK and Oceania Legs of Concert Tour

After an impressive first leg of their “Rock Out with Your Socks Out” concert tour in several European countries and most parts of the United Kingdom from May 4 to June 14, Luke Hemmings and his Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) headed back to their home territory and held court with yet another successful series of shows.

From their last concert in London on June 14, the Australian boy band composed of Luke, Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood, and Michael Clifford, flew to Auckland in New Zealand, and performed before a sold-out Vector Arena on June 18.

Subsequently, the band went back home to perform in five key cities in their home country from June 20 to June 29 including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

The 18-year-old vocalist of 5SOS never forgets to express his and his band’s gratitude after every concert performance in his Twitter account for his 6.04 million followers during the European-UK as well as the Oceania leg of their concert tour, which is meant to promote the band’s self-titled debut album.

After their successful performance in Auckland on June 18, Luke subsequently tweeted that it was a dream come true for him and his band to play at all phones arena, referring to Vector Arena. He likewise thanked every single New Zealander that came to their concert, citing that playing live is the best thing in the world.

Although he knows that 5SOS has a huge following in Australia, Luke never misses thanking their Aussie fans after every concert night.

Halfway through

5SOS is actually just halfway through or nearly halfway through with their “Rock Out with Your Socks Out” concert tour after a total of 34 gigs – 28 in Europe and the UK, and six in Oceania.

The success of the 5SOS concert tour in London, in particular, was evident when each band member received on June 14 an award from officials of the Wembley Arena for the three successive sell-out shows in the venue recently.

Wembley Arena’s John Drury, General Manager, and Sharon Smith, Head of Operations, handed the individual awards to the members of the 5SOS at the backstage of Wembley Arena.

In a recent post on Twitter, Ashton Irwin expressed his and the 5SOS gratitude for the millions of fans who supported them in their recent UK-Europe tour which had only them and an airconditioning unit. He reiterated his appreciation for the fans that rocked with them during those times.

The band is actually scheduled to go on with the third and most gruelling leg of their concert tour as they head to North America beginning on July 18 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada lasting all the way until September 13 at the Coral Sky Amphitheater at West Palm Beach in Florida in the United States.

While currently on a nearly three-week break from their concert tour, 5SOS is scheduled to perform in 35 more gigs in the North American leg of their concert tour. Luke Hemmings and his band seem to be ready to take on the challenge of filling up venues to the rafters the way they did in their previous gigs this year.

Drawing inspiration from other bands

The Australian pop rock band says that their stage performances in their ongoing ‘Rock Out with Your Socks Out’ world tour are inspired by the great rock bands of the past.

Luke Hemmings identified some of these great rock bands as Green Day, Guns N’ Roses, Poison, Bon Jovie and Blink-182. He added that he watched all those rock bands in their stage performances online through VH1 to see how they make a huge impact on the audience, notes Perezhilton.
