It’s been exactly 17 years since Disney made a remake of “The Parent Trap” which starred the then 11-year-old Lindsay Lohan. Playing perfectly the role of twins separated at birth, Hallie Parker, and Annie James, the film undeniably catapulted Lohan to stardom. It also starred Dennis Quad and the late Natasha Richardson as the twin’s parents.
After almost two decades, Lindsay just showed everyone how much “The Parent Trap” means to her. The 29-year-old actress shared a photo on Instagram on September 1 recreating her iconic twin role. In the photo, LiLo fused her past and present self, posing while holding her phone that shows the exact same pose of her Hallie/Annie character complete with the red hair and the freckles.
The photo definitely brought all her fans back to the 1998 film where her character proved that Oreo and peanut butter make a good combo. Also, judging how she looks great in the photo, Lohan is definitely showing the world that she is back and better than ever.
According to Movie Pilot, the “Mean Girls” star decided to make the most nostalgic comparison ever after having her face freshened up via spa session. The actress snapped the photo while she was enjoying a spa retreat in Switzerland.
Switzerland has been the latest tourist spot destination in Lohan’s series of overseas trips this summer. Recently, the “Georgia Rule” actress was seen relaxing in Portofino, Capri and chilling on yachts in Saint Tropez with some friends. She also attended her friend Justin Etzin’s wedding in Florence, Italy last month.
Last May, after nearly eight years in and out of the courtroom, the “I Know Who Killed Me” actress says she has a clean slate and a fresh start after finally finishing her probation that resulted from her 2012 reckless driving case. Lohan worked 35 hours of her ordered 125 hours of community service, where listed tasks included cleaning donated good and sorting out mails.
According to reports, Lindsay’s latest summer escapade proves that she is slowly putting her life back together but some media outlets claim that the star just couldn’t stay sober anymore. The Daily Mail reports that the “Labor Pains” star was seen and photographed stumbling back to her yacht in St. Tropez with her heels in hand and obviously very drunk.
Also, during her friend’s Italy wedding, sources say that Lindsay was found running naked to her villa after claiming she was drugged, but her friend denied these rumors.
Movie News Guide claims that the probation didn’t really change the troubled actress into a responsible adult and that she was just biding her time until she was released. The moment they let her loose, she will be up to her old ways again – getting drunk, wasted, and partying whenever she could.
Following her debut in “The Parent Trap,” the former teen sensation starred in a series of commercially successful Disney films such as another remake of “Freaky Friday,” “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen,” and “Herbie: Fully Loaded.”
She also starred in the romantic comedy film “Just My Luck” opposite Chris Pine, and in the teen comedy movie “Mean Girls” in which most would agree that her role as Cady Heron made her a household name in the industry. However, amid her numerous film and television roles, it was her private life that seemed more entertaining to the public.
