Presently, LG has been enjoying a lot of success with their latest line of devices like the LG G2 and 2014’s G3. As a result, it seems that the company is surely planning the development of their next flagship successor in the form of the LG G4. The device will most likely launch in 2015. However, what features can we expect from it?
There isn’t much news, however, according to recent rumors; LG G4 will compete directly with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 due to its support for stylus capabilities. In fact, recently we heard that LG filed a report to grab hold of a trademark ‘LG G Pen’ which hints at it being a stylus accessory or a device with a similar add-on. If this piece of rumor turns out to be true, it certainly won’t be the first time that an LG device has supported stylus capabilities.
All we can hope is that LG has perfected their use of the stylus as previous releases from the company were not as advantageous as that of the stylus in Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of smartphones. All in all, it seems like a grain of salt at the present moment, but we have our eyes peeled for any further notice and information. LG G3 was released during the middle of this year hence we can only hope that LG G4 will follow a similar release date pattern. Unless LG changes their mind, we can safely predict that spectators will get to witness this unique device at MWC or CES 2015.
In the meantime, there are reports that the G Pro line might be discontinued for good. While people have already started talking about an LG G Pro 3, reports indicate that LG might be killing off this particular range of devices. Unconfirmed speculations indicated that the said device could hit stores early next year but if the latest reports are solid, it might not be commercially released worldwide.
According to a recent report from Android Authority, LG might have killed off its G Pro line in favor of their development and planning regarding the launch of the LG G4. It is expected to be unveiled by May next year. According to them, the discontinuation of this range is not a surprise as the G3 already comes with a 5.5 inch screen compared to the 5.9inch display in the G Pro 2.
LG G4 is expected to come with next-gen features like 5.7inch HD-IPS+LCD display, with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB Internal Storage variants. It will also be upgradable to 128GB using a MicroSD card. Processor-wise, it could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801/802/805/808 chipset at 3GHz. Of course, it will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box and include a 15-17MP rear camera.
