Frozen easily captured the hearts and ears of just about everyone that saw it last year. The animated classic brought in billions worldwide and was number one at the box office for many weeks. The movie has been developed by Disney and was inspired by a story from Hans Christian called The Snow Queen. This movie marks the 53rd animated feature from Disney and could spawn a new series that is at least going to get one sequel according to rumor sites on the web.
For the past few months now, rumors have been going around that a second Frozen movie was going to be produced, but at this point Disney has not said one way or the other about it. At least one star from the original let it slip that a Frozen 2 movie was in the works and that was Idina Menzel. If the new movie is going to be produced, the question is what new actor or actresses will it bring along with it, if any?
According to online sources, one of those actresses could be Emily Blunt. She is promoting her new musical called “Into the Woods”, which opened on Christmas day to good reviews, and was recently asked about the second Frozen movie. She is a well known actress and can easily carry a musical like a pro, but will she think about calling Disney to see if there is an opening for another star? The question was tossed out to her during an interview about Into the Woods and her reaction did not appear to be one you would have guessed.
Instead, Emily Blunt said that the Frozen series is one for “her friend Kristen Bell”. Blunt said that she is very happy for her friend and that she did not know if getting a call from Disney would change anything. When asked if she would play a princess in a neighboring kingdom in Frozen 2, Blunt starts to think a little more positively about the chance saying, “Wouldn’t that be great?”.
All of the talk regarding the second Frozen movie started last month when Menzel hinted at it during an interview. She cleared things up later saying that she is just assuming the movie would get the green light based on the popularity of the first movie. Emily Blunt is tied to the movie in other ways as well, stating that she had started labor pains and delivered her daughter less than 24 hours after watching the original movie.
