While American game developer Valve Corporation has yet to come out with an official statement regarding the development of the multiplayer zombie shooter video game “Left 4 Dead 3,” rumors are rife that the game might come out of the gaming consoles and the PC next year.
Just like its predecessor games, “Left 4 Dead 3” will follow the tropes of most zombie thriller films and video games.
It will be set during a time of an unknown epidemic that turns humans into zombie-like creatures who try to mindlessly kill others.
According to most gamers and critics, they expect “Left 4 Dead 3” to implement whole new elements in terms of characters and gameplay, reports Fabnews.
They also expect the AI system of the game to have some significant improvements and that the enemy may be more responsive and tougher to evade than those found in its predecessor games.
To come out with VR support
There are also speculations saying that when “Left 4 Dead 3” comes out in the gaming consoles and the PC, it shall already have virtual reality (VR) support.
In fact, some of Valve’s most prominent employees have previously gone on record to state that the company was working big on a VR.
Among them is Alan Yates, a hardware engineer at Valve, who confirmed that the company has an intense focus on VR research and that a third of the company’s workforce is focused on it.
Valve has already shown its keen interest in virtual reality with the launch of the HTC Vive early this year. Rumors are saying that “Left 4 Dead 3” could take this VR support to the next level.
Gamers would really find it a solid experience especially if they are made to feel the dynamic virtual environment swarming with zombies while clutching the game controller. It sure has the potential to be a terrifying brutal power fantasy where a gamer can take on the swarms alone or with a group of tech-savvy friends, notes Trusted Reviews.
A better replay value
Because of the unpredictable AI Director, the replay value in “Left 4 Dead” has always been impressive as gamers can actually change where and when they might encounter the infected.
The problem is the limited selection of maps which made the feature feel underwhelming by making each gamer encounter with zombie a matter of endurance instead of being a matter of tension.
According to reports, “Left 4 Dead 3” could solve the issue in a number of ways, whether it would be via a larger variety of maps or perhaps more diverse enemies.
Meanwhile, independent game developer Turtle Rock Studios has already announced that it has officially ended its partnership with Valve Corporation after the release of “Left 4 Dead 2.”
Company officials added that the only way that they would go back to the third iteration of the multiplayer zombie shooter video game franchise, “Left 4 Dead,” is as gamers or spectators and not as developers.
Turtle Rock officials said that it is all Valve’s show already for “Left 4 Dead 3.” Valve has already confirmed in August that the game is indeed in development but it has not said anything about when would the game come out in the gaming consoles and the PC.
There have been reports saying that “Left 4 Dead 3” would come out of the gaming consoles and the PC ahead of Valve’s first-person shooter video game “Half-Life 3.” Since the general consensus of the release date rumors for “Half-Life 3” is that it would come out in 2018, then it follows that “Left 4 Dead 3” could actually come out in 2017.
But Valve has not been saying anything about the release date of the game so everything is up in the air regarding “Left 4 Dead 3,” which only increases fan thirst and enthusiasm for it.
From out of nowhere, Turtle Rock surprised every “Left 4 Dead” franchise fans when it recently released a few weeks ago an unfinished campaign of the original game, entitled “Damn It,” for free especially those who own the game on the PC.
