‘Left 4 Dead 3’ Rumored to Have Been Given a 2017 Release Date by Valve!

The third installment to the multiplayer zombie shooter video game “Left 4 Dead” franchise shall reportedly be released by game developer Valve Corporation next year on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC.

However, there was no confirmation from Valve as the reports came from sources who claim to have knowledge of the goings on at the game development company.

According to the same sources, Valve has intentionally delayed work on the survival first-person shooter video game “Half-Life 3” because the game developer has started working on “Left 4 Dead 3” already. In fact, they cited that the storyline of the third installment to the popular video game franchise will pick up where its predecessor, “Left 4 Dead 2” left off, notes BoingBoing.

That means that “Left 4 Dead 3” shall also be highly entertaining considering that “Left 4 Dead 2” is described by gaming critics as a wonderful zombie-smashing cooperative first-person shooter video game, fantastic, and the script is hilariously entertaining.

Long overdue

“Left 4 Dead 3” is already long overdue in the video game retail market since its predecessor was released way back in 2009.

There are also reports saying that “Left 4 Dead 3” shall have four playable characters – three males and one female, who is to be known as Katherine. The three male characters are to be gangster Irvin, comic book nerd Keenan, and famous Kenpo fighter Garrett Jr., details the Express of UK.

According to another report, Valve has made “Left 4 Dead 3” its top gaming priority because its predecessor was released some seven years ago

The latest hint on the possibility of “Left 4 Dead 3” coming out to the gaming consoles and the PC soon became more pronounced at the start of the year, particularly during the launching of the virtual reality headset of the Taiwanese tech giant HTC, officially known as the HTC Vive VR.

During the demo of the HTC Vive’s VR during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016, the event had full of references not only to “Left 4 Dead 3” but also to “Half-Life 3.”

The other hints that the video game is coming soon

In addition to the video from the Valve News Network, there are also the two folders called ‘left4dead3’ and ‘hl3.’ There are also lines of code referencing “Half-Life 3” and a potential quest system.

However, the Valve News Network pointed out that the Source 2 engine contains a great deal of stuff ported over directly from the old engine, hinting at the possibility that those files and references could be previously seen things, copied, and pasted over again.

As far as the video demo of the HTC Vive VR, it also showed that Aperture Robot Repair demo featuring assets from “Half-Life 2” and “Portal 2,” albeit with no interactivity and fixed camera angles.

The code features the usual strings for ‘l4d3’ and ‘hl3’ but those are not uncommon and offers little indication that the new games are in the works despite the fact that Valve Corporation has yet to make any official announcement or statement about those two highly-anticipated video games.

left 4 dead 3

It can be recalled that Valve was not publishing its own developed games and had to answer to Electronic Arts (EA). So with the massive success of “Left 4 Dead,” EA wanted to immediately cash in on the title and pushed both Valve Corporation and Turtle Rock Studios to haphazardly develop “Left 4 Dead 2,” which came out just a little over a year later after “Left 4 Dead.”

At the moment, Valve has full ownership of the series and no third-party publisher to answer to. Thus, it is likely that Valve will be back to its mode when it first developed the original “Left 4 Dead.”
