One thing is certain though – whether it’s “Left 4 Dead 3” or “Half-Life 3”, the studio is going to get a lot of attention if it releases one of those two games, and they would be very smart to start working on their marketing as early as possible if they are indeed planning to bring either title to the market.
Because, even though there is definitely going to be a lot of attention towards the game whenever it does get announced, it’s also true that Valve are going to need all the marketing boost they can get in order to realize its potential as best as possible.
After all, the studio’s popularity has declined slightly lately after they have lowered the pace at which they work on their own games.
They have instead been more focused on developing Steam and helping other companies promote their titles, which has resulted in a slight loss of attention towards them from the community. At the same time, many people are confident that Valve still have a lot of potential to make great games, they just need to harness it and put their developers to good work. They still have plenty of creative minds actively working for their studio behind those doors, after all, and they have all the talent they need to make something great.
