But in the end, Valve are constantly surrounded by such rumors and most of the time they are coming from community members themselves who are feeling bored and looking to spread some false information throughout the community.
When Valve have something more specific to say about “Left 4 Dead 3”, their fans can be sure that they will hear about it. It won’t take much effort for Valve to get the ball rolling and spread the news all over the Internet, as they just have to mention that they are making progress on the title and the Internet will take care of the rest.
At this point though, it looks like Valve have decided to take a step back from their actual game development for a while, and they are focusing more actively on developing Steam and evolving their marketplace.
For some gamers, this is a natural progression of the studio’s work, as they have been moving in that direction for a while now. For others, it’s a bit annoying because many people have been hoping to see a sequel to one of Valve’s more popular games for quite some time now, and it must be a bit frustrating to see the studio constantly focusing on something else and not touching the games that made them popular in the first place, seemingly in favor of monetary gains.
