Although American game developer Valve Corporation has not said anything official about the next installment to its multiplayer zombie shooter video game franchise “Left 4 Dead,” rumors are now rife that “Left 4 Dead 3” will be launched at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 to be held in California in June.
“Left 4 Dead 2” was released way back in 2009 so the high expectation and anticipation of gamers for “Left 4 Dead 3” this year is quite understandable and certainly has a good leg to stand on.
Reports have it that Valve Corporation is now working hard on the development of “Left 4 Dead 3” and that it is looking at coming up with fresh material and new interesting characters for the third installment of the very popular video game franchise, reports the Christian Times.
The speculations over “Left 4 Dead 3” were actually fanned further by former Valve employee Minh Le, who goes by the name of Gooseman. In a previous interview, he confirmed that the game development company is already hard at work on “Left 4 Dead 3.”
It is also expected that when the game finally comes out in the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC, it will feature a lot of innovations including better graphics and higher technologies too.
Possible 2017 launching
According to reports, after the possible launching of the game at the E3 2016, Valve may officially release it to the gaming consoles and the PC next year.
In fact, the same reports also cited that Valve has made the development of “Left 4 Dead 3” a top priority over its other popular and highly-anticipated video game title “Half-Life 3,” reports the Express of UK.
Based on previous reports, “Left 4 Dead 3” shall feature new characters including a newcomer hoodlum named Irvin, an ex-flight attendant named Katherine, a Kenpo fighter battle lord known as Garrett Jr., and a comic book geek named Keenan.
The same reports also say that the gameplay shall also increase the number of possible gamers from the previous six to eight.
In addition, there will also be six different campaigns in the game including No Mercy, Early Destination, Impasse, Cliff-Hanger, Crashland, and Inquisitor Land. There is also a possibility that more campaigns will be added to the game through future DLCs.
Regardless whether these rumors and speculations are true or not, they are only making fans believe that “Left 4 Dead 3” is already in the pipeline and will be dropping very soon.
Good track record in multiplayer games
Latest reports have it that “Left 4 Dead 3” has just come out in Microsoft’s list for the Xbox One backward compatibility program, which only validates previous reports that Valve is indeed working on the development of the game.
Based on information leaking from inside Valve Corporation, the game development company would be focusing its efforts on Steam and its online multiplayer games as those initiatives bring more money to its coffers than single-player video games.
Valve’s sterling record in online multiplayer games speaks for itself and it is highlighted by very popular video games like “Counterstrike,” “DoTA” and “DoTA 2.”
Another hint on the possibility of “Left 4 Dead 3” coming out to the gaming consoles and the PC soon became more pronounced at the start of the year, particularly during the launching of the virtual reality headset of the Taiwanese tech giant HTC, officially known as the HTC Vive VR.
During the demo of the HTC Vive’s VR at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016, the event had full of references not only to “Left 4 Dead 3” but also to “Half-Life 3.”
