“Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain” is also expected to become a big hit when it hits the retail markets in September. And it would be business as usual for Konami.
The fallout between Konami and Kojima has also trickled to another major game project called “Silent Hills,” which has already been cancelled as a result.
In a tweet on April 26, Guillermo del Toro said that it really breaks his greasy heart that “Silent Hills” shall no longer happen.
Norman Reedus of “The Walking Dead” TV series also said that he was super bummed to know that the project will no longer be happening. He said however that he’s hoping he would be able to take part in a similar project in the near future.
Both Del Toro and Reedus are part of the cast and crew of “Silent Hills” before the video game’s untimely demise.
Despite the cancellation, Konami said that it would still move on with the franchise. But the company has taken down the game trailer so as not to attract further legal hassles.
Gamers are hoping that the story of “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain” would not go downhill once Kojima formally walks away from it all. Many believe that it would be better for him to walk away with both “Metal Gear Solid 5” and “Silent Hill” since the two video games are his finest works.
