Johnny Depp Returns to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ and Jerry Bruckheimer is not Letting Him Go Until Filming is Complete, More Details!

After more than a month of absence from the filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean 5,” Johnny Depp has returned to the set of the movie in the Gold Coast.

The 51-year-old actor spared no time in buckling down to work right away and resumed filming of the scenes that was put on hold when he left the set early in March for the US after he injured his hand and necessitated a minor injury.

Film producer Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed on his Twitter account the first photo of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow after his return of the “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” reports IGN.

The image shows Captain Jack Sparrow tied by two other pirates so Bruckheimer captioned it by stating that Captain Jack is back and they’re not about to let him go anytime soon.

Obviously, Bruckheimer is insinuating that they want to finish the filming of the movie with Johnny Depp already back on the set.

There are three more months remaining before shooting for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” wraps up. And with Johnny Depp already onboard, it is expected that the Disney film would finish as scheduled.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tells No Tales” is a multi-million dollar collaboration by Disney Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Productions. It is due to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.

In addition to Johnny Depp, the movie also stars Javier Bardem and Brenton Thwaites as well as Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning.

Filming resumption

Resumption of filming for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” the fifth installment to the successful action adventure movie franchise from Disney Pictures, begins on April 20 with the expected return of lead actor Johnny Depp to the set in Gold Coast in Australia.

Unfortunately for the production staff, Johnny Depp has yet to arrive and finish shooting the $250 million movie as of April 20.

The actor was supposed to board his scheduled private charter flight from Los Angeles and be on Brisbane on April 13 so that he could start filming one week later but a source in the production says that Johnny Depp was still in the US.

Everyone on the production staff were hoping that he finally gets onboard the plane on April 17 so that he could at least be on the set when filming resumes on April 20 since shooting is already running behind schedule. The actor arrived in the set early this week.

Accordingly, they have revised and rearrange principal photography on those things that they can and can’t shoot before filming of the movie starts again.

Filming for “Pirates of the Caribbean” has been delayed by almost a month following the hand injury to Johnny Depp he sustained in the first week of March but was not related at all to the shooting of the movie. He flew back to the US to undergo a minor surgery in his hand.

  1. Johnny Depp is a stand up, dedicated, professional Character Actors of our time, he who delivers with steady conviction of Character every time. A man who takes his craft seriously; we are all happy, his wing is feeling better. Fantastic! to see him back on the set of Pirates #5 ; only 4 weeks for an injury that could potentially keep someone off work for much longer.
Way to go Johnny Depp! you prove to be the amazing guy we all know you are. ☆~Michelle A LaFrance
