Jennifer Lawrence Looks Like a Superhero as Katniss Everdeen in Movie and Motions Posters of ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’

More than four months to go before the release of her film “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” Jennifer Lawrence has shared the movie poster on July 8 featuring herself as lead protagonist Katniss Everdeen.

She is seen wearing a crimson suit from top to bottom, which was also the same as the colors of the arrows on her back, while primly sitting on a tall white chair that seems to represent the throne most likely.

From the appearance of the poster, it actually seems like Katniss Everdeen is not the rebel she is portraying in the film but actually looked more like a superhero in the shades of Hawkeye or the Arrow.

The poster also reads ‘The fire will burn forever,’ which is an allusion to Katniss moniker in the movie as the ‘girl on fire’ as she rallies the people to rebel with the help of President Alma Coin, played by Julianne Moore in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1,” details the Daily Mail.

A motion poster

Subsequently, a short video clip, which is referred to by the producers as a motion poster, was revealed to excite fans on the upcoming “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” and also continue highlighting Katniss Everdeen as a superhero.

In the 43-second motion poster, Katniss is shown wearing her long, brunette hair pulled back into her signature braid. She is seen ready for battle as she is also equipped with her bow and arrows.

The face of rebellion is initially seen not looking at the camera but as the clip rolls, she slowly turns her head and face it.

What made her look like a superhero in the motion poster is the long gray cape she wore and it was being blown by the air from the left side, making it look like she was flying or floating on the air.

The camera then pans back to show Katniss actually standing on top of a massive stone sculpture of the now famous District 12 salute, which has become the symbol of rebellion.

After the camera has pulled back far enough to show the entire sculpture, a message appears on the screen above Katniss that reads ‘Unite D13, The revolution is about all of us’ and the clip is then followed by words that say ‘Stand by for a message from District 13.’

Those who are familiar to the movie series know that District 13 is where Katniss found herself during the events of the Quarter Quell edition of The Hunger Games and also the place where she and the president worked together and she was made the official face of the rebellion.

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2″ will hit theaters in the UK on November 19 and shall be released in US cinemas the following day.

Final bow

According to the report of MTV, Jennifer Lawrence will have her final bow as Katniss Everdeen with “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” and the actress will make it official by making a pronouncement at the San Diego ComicCon 2015.

That would be contrary to the wishes of the actress because in an interview last May, Jennifer Lawrence said that if she will have her way, she wants another “The Hunger Games” movie after the fourth “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.”

It would really be difficult to turn down the desire of one of the busiest Hollywood actresses today especially after she immortalizes her Katniss character in “The Hunger Games” movie franchise by turning it as a diva-goddess and super hero-like stature.

And it seems the producers of the science-fiction adventure movie series based on the adventure novels written by American author Suzanne Collins are amenable to the idea of Jennifer Lawrence.

  1. No, no she doesn’t. There is nothing about Katniss that is a hero, as she’s a manipulated automaton until the end when she makes *1* choice.

And JLaw is no hero herself.

No one wins in the end. Except for Subway.
