Jamie Dornan remains a loyal husband to Amelia Warner and a devoted father to their children. The 34-year-old actor finally cleared up rumors linking him and ‘”Fifty Shades of Grey” leading lady Dakota Johnson.
Speaking to Belfast Telegraph while promoting his latest film “Anthropoid,” the Irish actor says that he’s more in love with his wife today. He also dismissed rumors that he and Dakota are having an affair.
He says that Dakota is a good friend and the rumored affair just transcended through their characters, Christian and Anastasia, in the erotic movie trilogy.
Jamie says that he remains smitten incessantly with his wife every day. The couple got married in 2013 in Somerset and are now parents to two beautiful girls.
Their first-born, Dulcie, was born on November 2013 and their second child was born just last March.
Dornan went on to say that they are both enjoying family life. He admits that having two girls is pretty insane, but it’s also one of the best feelings in the world.
With a newborn and a toddler, Amelia and Jamie are still in the process of adjusting to less sleep, less time for themselves and more for their girls.
This then clears up any rumors linking him to his leading lady Dakota. Rumors about the on-screen pair having a supposed affair spread like wildfire when Amelia was spotted on the set of “Fifty Shades Darker” allegedly watching both actors closely.
Speculations started going around that the two are secretly dating since they were both cast in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” When Dakota broke up with longtime boyfriend Jordan Masterson, rumors linking her and Dornan were fueled.
Dakota has also dismissed rumors linking her and Dornan but the rumors just won’t leave them alone. She clarifies that gaining recognition after playing Anastasia Steele has put a lot of pressure on her previous relationship.
Jamie clarified that Amelia has always been keen in supporting his career which is why his whole family flew to Canada while he was filming his upcoming movie.
They also wanted to spend more time together in between filming. Last month, the couple was spotted enjoying the beach in Canada while the actor was currently on a break from filming.
The Daily Mail previously reported that it became difficult for Jamie to leave his wife because she got pregnant when filming for “Fifty Shades Darker” was about to start filming.
The same thing happened when Warner was pregnant with Dulcie which was why he also wanted to keep his wife close to her so he can be with her in this delicate situation.
Filming for Jamie and Dakota’s highly publicized film wrapped up last month. The last two films in the trilogy, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” were filmed back-to-back and is slated for a 2017 and 2018 release, respectively.
Speaking to “Good Morning America” about the sequel, the “Once Upon a Time” actor explained the benefits of filming the last two films in one go.
He says that it was the right way to do it and was good for everyone in terms of keeping the energy. It was great because, in terms of motivation, the cast and crew were all in with the project.
He says that since the next two films have a new director in James Foley, viewers can expect a different kind of experience. The first film was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
Johnson declined to do the last two films because it was reported that she clashed many times with author E.L James in terms of the screenplay for the story.
“The Fall” actor also went on to talk about his leading lady Johnson saying that she’s a funny person and they’ve been through the journey together and he’s lucky that he got to do it with someone who’s easy to work with.
