Whether or not the show will be successful under these conditions is difficult to predict right now. There’s certainly been a lot of drama focused on it recently, and it can easily impact it in a positive or a negative way, depending on which way the winds blow.
Some have argued that E! would have never managed to draw so much attention to the production without this kind of controversy, but that once again verges into questionable territory and we wouldn’t be so quick to jump to such conclusions. Rumors like this one will likely keep popping up from time to time, but they’re not really something fans should engage in.
It will be interesting to see if showrunner Jonathan Abrahams has anything else to add to the current discussions later on, and it does seem like he might have more that he wants to say to his fans, judging by his recent responses.
But he might want to keep things on a lower note for a while first, until the controversy around the rumors about Katie Holmes dies down completely. As we pointed out above, that’s already well on its way, but it will take a while longer before this event completely leaves the spotlight. It’s just one of the more annoying aspects of Hollywood, and unfortunately it’s something fans have learned to live with and accept at this point.
