Irina Shayk, born Irina Valeryevna Shaykhlislamova, is the pin-up girl for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and a Russian model. She also happens to be the long-time girlfriend of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. Born on January 6, 1986, Irina Shayk has striking Brazilian features, for which she gives credit to the Tartar lineage on her father’s side.
She came into the limelight after replacing Ana Beatriz Barros as the face of Intimissimi in 2007. She went on to feature in every annual edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue since then and became the first Russian model to be featured in the cover of the magazine in 2011.
28 year old Irina Shayk turned heads at a charity event hosted by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The leggy lass wore a sheer black turtleneck sweater tucked into a leather pencil skirt. She paired her outfit with black pointed toe pumps. Her hair was tied in an elegant bun and she kept her makeup minimum with just a hint of a liner on her beautiful electric green eyes.
Irina Shayk arrived at the ASPCA event with an arm candy. A pooch called Toast, whose trademark floppy tongue has made her famous. With Toast in her arms, Irina made sure that she cut a sexy figure at the event, of which she is a dedicated member.
Irina and Ronaldo haven’t been very public about their relationship, but they recently did a photo shoot together for celebrity photographer Mario Testino. Irina Shayk showed off her friendly side as she freely mingled with canine friends at the Young Friends benefit. She cuddled and hugged them and left many an admirer hoping they could be in place of the lucky canines.
The ASPCA annual benefit attracts a huge number of New York’s upwardly mobile young professionals, who are animal lovers. The charity event was held at InterActiveCorp headquarters in Chelsea. The event had cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music, art, a silent auction, and also featured animals that were in need of a home and up for adoption.
Before the event, Irina Shayk had uploaded a painting of a woman kissing a dog on Instagram and captioned it saying that she was proud to be part of the Host Committee for ASPCA Young Friends benefit.
Also seen at the ASPCA event was Lo Bosworth of Laguna Beach, Orange Is The New Black star Vicky Jeudy and The Real Housewives Of New York City star Kelly Bensimon. Black appeared to be the preferred colour with each celebrity making an appearance in it; be it a skirt, well-fitted trousers or leather pants.
