HTC One M9 Arriving Sooner Than Expected: Is the Device Coming in a Few Days

The HTC One M9 has had its fair share of attention in the news lately, as various editions have been spreading rumors about the device’s alleged leaked specifications. The phone, called “Hima” internally, seems to build on HTC’s trend of making Android powerhouse phones, delivering even more serious specifications and a great visual design. And now, yet another interesting rumor has appeared – it seems that HTC are already gearing up for the launch of the device, and are preparing to have it out on the market as soon as next week!

According to the rumors, HTC are planning to announce and launch the phone at CES, which will be held next week in Las Vegas, although this would be a bit contradictory given the company’s past release trends. HTC seem to prefer the spring season for putting their devices out on the market, but the way the whole industry has been readapting its approach to releases lately, it wouldn’t be surprising if HTC are also experimenting with different release schedules.

What will the HTC One M9 bring to the table exactly though? Those who’ve missed the recent rumors might find the leaked specifications quite interesting and attractive. The phone allegedly comes with a 5 inch screen running at a Full HD resolution, and behind that, it’s powered by a 64-it Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with a dedicated GPU for graphics-intensive applications. It’s worth noting that this is one of the first phones to use the brand new Snapdragon 810, which is an even more serious upgrade to the already popular 805.

Needless to say, with these specifications, and HTC’s affinity for Android updates, the HTC One M9 will ship with the latest version of the operating system directly – if the rumors are true, customers will get Android 5.0.1 right out of the box. It’s not known if this will change to include any additional updates released in the coming days by Google, although it’s not very likely. In the least though, the new releases should be made available as OTA updates shortly after the phone is launched.

Last but not least, a nearly 3000 mAh battery will help ensure that the phone has enough power to keep all of those serious components running for a sufficiently long time. Experts estimate that a phone with those specifications should have no problem lasting for a full day on a 100% battery charge, although this of course depends on the intensity of use – it’s worth remembering that a screen like that always drains the battery quite a lot, and should be used sparingly if one is concerned about that.
