A new image of the alleged HTC One M10 has been making the rounds on the internet detailing the upcoming smartphone’s rumored design.
According to Know Your Mobile, many versions of HTC’s upcoming flagship device have already leaked online in the past few months and the latest image of the device comes courtesy of Chinese microblogging website Weibo.
The image shows the HTC One M10 encased in an all-metal frame design. The handset has a slightly protruding camera and a dual-tone LED flash. A black sensor just under the flash could be a vertically positioned laser-assisted auto-focus system.
Reports say that the HTC One M10 will be equipped with a 12-MP camera and shall come with other camera features such as optical image stabilization and laser auto-focus.
The photo also shows the phone has visible antenna bands that appear to be a noise-cancelling microphone. At the left portion of the device, the power button can be seen.
The image also features the phone with lots of bezels compared to its predecessors which is an unusual move for HTC as they usually release designs with more curved lines.
The photo also showcases the back portion of the device. If the alleged leaked photo is legit, then the handset has a slight curve and large chamfered edges.
The top-center appears to be a spot for a 3.5-millimeter audio jack just like previous phones on the One series. The volume control buttons are positioned on the left side of the device which matches with earlier leaks.
HTC still hasn’t confirmed if the photo is indeed an image of the HTC One M10 and the photo first found on Weibo has since been deleted, but a lot of websites have saved the image and shared it themselves.
Earlier reports claim the latest installment of the HTC One series will be sporting a 5.1-inch AMOLED display with a 2,560x 1,440-pixel resolution.
Some reports also claim that the phone will be packed with a fingerprint scanner, IP78 water and dust proofing, and a 3,000mAH battery.
If this is true, then HTC has definitely amped its upcoming flagship device and will definitely exceed the expectations of its customers.
Speculations are rife that the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer’s latest flagship phone will be available in two models: one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM, and the other one with a MediaTek processor.
Android Authority reports that the Qualcomm version of the device is more likely to hit the American and European markets.
Reports also say that the HTC offerings may include 32GB internal storage, but customers may also expect a microSD slot for storage expansion.
The phone is also expected to come running with the latest operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Last month, Twitter user @evleaks shared that the upcoming smartphone will be a lot like HTC One A9.
The device @evleaks shared was the rumored HTC One M10 in a color white variant. Interestingly, the black version of it already leaked earlier which appeared to have a silver edging. In the Twitter tipster’s photo, the phone seems to have a black edging.
The Twitter user added that HTC’s BoomSound speakers will not be making an appearance on the M10. The reason behind this is still unclear, but it’s likely a design trade-off.
@evleaks also released a 3D render of what the device will probably look like which appeared far-fetched from the recently leaked images, especially on design specifications.
According to Technoconfigurations, the 3D render, and video is a little disappointing as the HTC One M10 looks like an old iPhone model. The 3D render also lacks the BoomSound stereo speakers.
Makers of the 3D render argued that they were just being faithful to the leaked images of the phone where they based their 3D design from.
