When you think of long-lasting cars, great warranties, and overall best sales in the United States, what car comes to mind? If you live in United States, you most likely are not thinking about the Honda Accord. That would be unfortunate, since the Honda Accord is one of the most popular, fastest selling cars in the United States. The 2015 Honda Accord competes in the midsize class, dates, all way back to the 1976, model. At that time, the car weighed 2000 pounds, which was quite large to today’s standards, and only had 68 hp.
The Accord quickly became Honda’ss bestseller and grew in terms of weight almost 1500 pounds since 1976. According to reports Honda Accord is the very first foreign car ever to be built in United States. Just a couple of years ago the Honda Accord was completely restyled with a sleeker design that gives it a more muscular look. For most of the models that are available today, the price is quite affordable, coming in at just over $22,000 for the Honda Accord LX. Honda has plenty of models, but the Accord is clearly one of its most popular.
For that $22,000, what do you think you are going to get? How about a V-6 engine with more than 270 hp and a six speed automatic transmission geared both for economy and performance. If you have the four-cylinder, however, 185 hp is found under the hood of that model. The brand new Honda Accord comes a 18 inch wheels that fit nicely with the front strut and rear multi-link independent suspension setup. The car comes with a 17.2 gallon fuel tank, which might hurt a little bit with the prices of gas coming up a little bit since a year ago.
The Honda Accord also comes in a hybrid model available in the United States also built in Ohio plant. Since last July, Honda has sold just a little more than 8000 hybrids and by the end of last year, that number was almost 14,000. That clearly shows the popularity of the hybrid vehicles in the United States. The Honda Accord hybrid would be competing directly with the Toyota hybrid, which saw sales fall would just 1% in 2014.
The interior of the Honda Accord looks very sleek with a central located infotainment center just above all the other – controls for heating, radio and things like that. Just a little lower is the stick shift, which is in the same place for automatic or manual transmissions. The seats look comfortable as they are bucket seats that wrap around your body and make you feel secure. The black, silver and light grey trim really adds luxurious feel of the Honda Accord.
