The location of “GTA 6” is the biggest question on the table right now for its fans, as most rumors about the game have been focused on this particular issue. It’s been claimed that Rockstar are still trying to decide where they want to place the next installment in the series, and according to the latest rumors, there are still many options that are being discussed and Rockstar themselves are a bit confused over what to do.
One of the ideas that have been mentioned in the most recent rumors is the possibility of revisiting old locations from previous “GTA” games. Which ones exactly, we don’t know – the franchise has certainly gone through many different places right now and there are lots of different possibilities for what this could mean.
Vice City in particular has been mentioned as a possible location before, and there have also been some small rumors about San Andreas, although those weren’t very prominent and died down shortly after coming out. On the other hand, there are also claims that Rockstar aren’t even going to go with a fictional location for this game, and are planning to take players around the world, going through different locations on several continents.
The location of the game can certainly make it or break it, as it’s always important for a good “GTA” game to give players lots of beautiful scenery and interesting locations to explore. Putting the game in a real-world location has the drawback of limiting the developers’ creativity in this regard, but on the other hand it could also force them to think outside the box and pick a truly interesting place that can be translated to “GTA” gameplay properly.
Another element of the game that has been discussed a lot is the protagonist. This is something that traditionally changes for every “GTA” game, and there is every reason to believe that “GTA 6” will be no different, and we’ll see a brand new protagonist for the player. Is it still going to be one character, or multiple different ones like in “GTA 5”? We have no idea.
But at this point, apparently, even the gender of the protagonist is up for discussion, as Rockstar have reportedly been toying with the idea of a female player character. This would certainly be something new for the franchise, and it’s a rumor that sounds at least a little bit legitimate. Of course, even if it is true, it’s probably just an idea that’s on the table for Rockstar, and not something they’ve actually started to work on. For now, the studio’s focus seems to be on “GTA 5” and its “Heists” mode.
