There have been enough rumors and speculations about the sixth installment of the open-world action adventure video game franchise “Grand Theft Auto” that one would easily surmise that the game would be released soon enough.
But “GTA 6” would not be coming out anytime soon that’s for sure because aside from the fact that developer Rockstar Games does not release video games on a yearly basis, it also does not want to come up with a half-baked output that would only be criticized for coming out as a major disappointment to gamers.
So far, the rumors are pretty consistent with the speculated release date of “GTA 6” which would accordingly may happen from 2018 to 2020. While there are occasional reports that the game may come out in 2017, eventually it bounces back to 2018.
Since the “GTA 3,” Rockstar has come up with a policy of not releasing a game every year to give the company sufficient time to develop a great game before releasing it to the public and avoid releasing low-quality sequel to the its existing game titles.
Interesting setting for the game
Another interesting rumor about “GTA 6” is its setting which according to latest reports would incorporate the maps of the entire US for its gameplay.
This speculation got some kind of teeth when Rockstar president Leslie Benzies said in a recent interview that at some point in the “GTA” franchise, they would really like to have one big world containing all the US cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas, cites Breathecast.
Having the entire US for the gameplay map of “GTA 6” would really bring a lot of issues to the game, according to some game experts because driving from one city or state to another could be a real drag or chore to gamers, because if the drive will be filled with countryside, the players will have nothing much to do in between.
But Benzies did mention that players can fly between US cities, which means that traveling can also be done by air and not just through the tedious road trip.
Female character on ‘GTA 6’
While Rockstar Games has yet to officially confirm the arrival of a female character in “GTA 6,” speculations have been pretty consistent that there will be at least one when the game finally comes out to the gaming platform a few years down the road.
And the rumors are pretty consistent too that Eva Mendez will be the voice actor for the female lead. Those speculations actually gave birth to rumors that Eva’s romantic partner Ryan Gosling will also join the game as a voice actor, notes the Gospel Herald.
With recent reports that the latest update coming to the “GTA Online” possibly this month will give the players the capability to change the gender or sex of their playable character from male to female and vice versa, it becomes clear that a female character is now very much possible for “GTA 6.”
Gosling’s participation to “GTA 6” will usher the developer’s plan to meld the “GTA” series with the company’s other mega-successful video game franchise “Red Dead Redemption.”
The actor’s character shall reportedly play a descendant of John Marston, the protagonist in “Red Dead Redemption.” Gosling’s character will be based on his role in the 2011 crime movie drama called “Drive” where he showed his acting prowess as a criminal.
However, one of the interesting rumors going around these days is that game developer Rockstar Games will introduce a novel feature to “GTA 6” that would enable gamers to choose a cop character instead of being one of the bad guys, which has always been the case for players of the game.
