GTA 6 Developer May Consider Bringing Subscription to the Open-World Action Adventure Video Game!

When rumors came out that developer Rockstar Games reportedly wants the upcoming open world action-adventure video game “Grand Theft Auto 6” to become the next “World of Warcraft,” it fuelled various speculations from both gamers and critics.

It was actually game publisher Take Two Interactive who said that it is looking at “GTA 6” to become the next “World of Warcraft.”

While it did not explain its description, reports have it that developer Rockstar Games intends to strengthen the multiplayer mode of “GTA 6” because co-op gameplay and modding have been the gaming trend as of late and have also become part of consumer habits.

It is also possible that Take Two Interactive may be hinting of the possibility that “GTA 6” may offer subscription too or it could be alluding that it wants the franchise to be as durable as “World of Warcraft.”

Focusing on subscriptions

“World of Warcraft” is the world’s most subscribed massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It holds the Guinness World Record for the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game in terms of subscribers.

“World of Warcraft” is also the highest grossing video game of all time earning US10 billion in July 2012. In January last year, game developer Blizzard Entertainment also announced that more than 100 million game players accounts had already been created over the game’s 21-year existence.

According to some critics, it is possible that Rockstar Games is looking more on bringing subscription to “GTA 6” rather than strengthening its multiplayer mode since there is already “GTA Online” which always gets a new version whenever a new iteration of the game comes out.

However, the online multiplayer mode for “GTA 5” was said to be shaky following its launching because it encountered numerous server issues and bugs that kicked players out of the game. Rockstar has since addressed the issues and “GTA 5 Online” is now one of the most exciting and most popular online platforms to date, details the Christian Today.

It will be very hard for the New York City-based game developer to achieve the level of popularity of “World of Warcraft” developed by Blizzard Entertainment so it may probably focus on “GTA 6” subscriptions where the gamers will need to pay a monthly fee to play the game, details Neurogadget.

To feature teleporting too

Prior to the “World of Warcraft” comparison, previous reports about “GTA 6” is that it will feature teleporting of players or the ability to transpose oneself from one place to another without having to do any kind of traveling.

The teleporting rumor on “GTA 6” appears to be an offshoot of the previous rumor that the video game would feature a state-to state map of America.

While it is certainly possible to do that considering the capability of game developer Rockstar Games, it seems rather absurd if that would be the case since it would be a real massive map and players would do a lot of traveling in between heists.

Critics were asking if the report is true about the massive US map, what would gamers do while on travel from one state to the next, which means that there would be some downtime or lull when “GTA 6” finally comes out in the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC a few years down the road. The rumor about the teleporting feature would seem to address the downtime as there shall no longer be travel time involved.

Latest rumors seem to clarify about the massive gameplay map for “GTA 6.” One Reddit user said that the upcoming “GTA” game will have a pretty unique map because it will have all the GTA maps combined into one consistent world map.

San Andreas is going to be seen in the southwest area and Las Venturas will be in San Andreas territory while San Fiero will be taking the place of San Francisco near the north of San Andreas.
