The expectations on the GoPro Hero 5 are very high among consumers but nothing can be higher on the expectations of the American camcorder company on the device when it is finally launched this coming October.
According to reports, GoPro is really pinning its hopes on the GoPro Hero 5 to help turn things around for the consumer electronics manufacturer after a profit debacle last year.
GoPro suffered a decline in its bottomline last year following the reported failure of the GoPro Hero 5 to launch in October last year.
Joe Wittine of Longbow Research recently said that he is optimistic about the financial prospects of the company with the forthcoming launching of the GoPro Hero 5 and the release of the GoPro Karma drone, which was already launched late last year.
The analyst believes that the two upcoming products could help return the company to profitability coupled with a bullish market sentiment in the foreseeable future, details the ValueWalk.
Wittine also believes that GoPro Hero 5 shall provide a contemporary user experience that would ensure that the action camera is more enjoyable and user-friendly, which could mean that the device would have an automated loading process.
Arresting the financial slide
The Christian Times also reported that the GoPro Hero 5 could be the product that shall save GoPro from the financial slide that it has been experiencing since last year.
GoPro has been in a profit slump last year. In fact, the company had to give its Hero 4 Session a major price cut. In January this year, it was revealed that its sales had gone down by as much as 31% compared to the same period last year.
Since late in 2014, there have been a lot of reports, information, rumors, and speculations about the GoPro Hero 5, the latest action camera from the American camcorder company.
From a previously-reported October 2015 release date, the GoPro Hero 5 shall reportedly come out in the global retail markets in October this year.
A lofty promise
Most of the specifications and features that have made the rounds on the internet about the GoPro Hero 5 were already confirmed by GoPro CEO Nick Woodman, who also promised that when the action camera comes out, it shall immediately become the best videographic equipment the world has ever seen.
Based on the latest statements from Woodman himself regarding the highly-anticipated action camera, GoPro Hero 5 shall have a superior hardware as well as a smartphone and cloud-connected storage.
This means that the action camera can easily exceed its internal storage allocation as it can directly save the pictures or videos to either the user’s smartphone or to a cloud server. This will come very useful for those with active lifestyles as they need not worry about running out of memory space for their photos and videos once they start using GoPro Hero 5.
Before the release of the GoPro Hero 5 in October this year, the company shall also release the GoPro Karma first.
Some tech enthusiasts believe that GoPro is now working on making a grand release for the GoPro Hero 5 considering the long fan wait. But reports are pretty consistent in saying that the upcoming action camera shall become the American camcorder company’s redeeming product in an attempt to recapture the business stability it once enjoyed.
Reports are also consistent that the GoPro Hero 5 will come out with a price falling in the range of $450 to $550 making it actually cheaper or at most equal only to the cost of the GoPro Hero 4, its predecessor.
