With its popularity all over the world, the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones” practically does not need major promotion to hype its upcoming Season 7.
But leave it to the producers to do the nearly unthinkable to capitalize on the popularity of the TV series, which has been confirmed to end on Season 8.
It has just been announced that a “Game of Thrones” concert tour in the US has been slated early next year which would surely provide a superb promotional hype to “Game of Thrones” Season 7 premiere slated sometime in the second half of next year.
From its usual April premiere date during the past six seasons, Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” would have a delayed premiere date which is intentional since the producers will do filming in Ireland during the winter to make the setting quite authentic.
It could be recalled that during the Season 6 finale, winter has come to Westeros and it is likely that most of the setting for Season 7 would feature a snowy environment especially in the north including Winterfell.
Recreating the show’s musical score
But the “Game of Thrones” concert tour would not feature singing performances from cast members or guest singers but a full orchestra and choir.
Djawadi will have the full orchestra and choir recreate the show’s score for the “Game of Thrones” Live Concert Experiences during its North America tour beginning at Kansas City in February next year all the way to Portland on April 2, 2017, details Pitch Fork.
To be produced by Live Nation, the concert shall use innovative music tour production and video technology that will recreate the various realms found throughout Westeros and Essos.
It will also showcase footage from the show in addition to all new imagery created exclusively for the tour, which shall be held in 28 cities in the US.
Critics describe the “Game of Thrones” Live Concert Experiences as a music and visual experience that will bring the Seven Kingdoms to life on a scale never seen before, cites Variety.
The USC band kicked off the event, marching through the streets of Hollywood while playing the “Game of Thrones” theme, to the delight of the hundreds of fans and to the chagrin of cars in traffic.
Production teaser for ‘GoT’
“Game of Thrones” joined the San Diego ComicCon held last month and aside from a presentation panel from the cast members and executive producers, the TV show also launched its production teaser.
As expected, the teaser did not show much but merely production of the props to be used in the upcoming Season 7 of the popular and hit TV series.
But if any, it also hinted that the upcoming Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” shall feature more deaths.
It could be recalled that during the Season 6 penultimate and the finale episodes, there was just plenty of deaths in the series especially in light of the Battle of the Bastards for the right to Winterfell, the battle in Mereen, and the rise to the Iron Throne of Cersei Lannister over at Westeros vice erstwhile King Tommen.
With the impending battle in King’s Landing between the Lannisters and the mighty flock of Daenerys ‘Stormborn’ Targaryen, Season 7 could even be bloodier when it finally unveils in the summer of next year.
The production teaser showed the beginning of Cersei’s reign from the Iron Throne including what she did to the nun from the Sparrow while she was incarcerated by the High Septon.
It is clear though that there will be plenty of continued exploits from Sansa Stark and Jon Snow and the impending arrival to Winterfell of their two other siblings in Bran and Arya. Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” shall see many more funerals to come and the plethora of eyes painted on stones in the production teaser are indications.
