We don’t know when the game will be ready exactly, and while some fans have been expressing hopes that they would get to see it before the end of 2015, that’s starting to seem less and less likely.
With confirmations that the gameplay hasn’t been fully implemented yet, we don’t expect to see the entire game finished in that time. After the development work is done, the game still needs to be tested, refined and polished properly before it’s ready for release.
And that will take some time if the studio wants to make sure that they release it in the best condition they’re capable of. Perfection always takes a lot of effort when it comes to an interactive product like a game, and Japanese developers in particular tend to be very fond of taking their time in order to make their products as complete as possible.
They will only get one chance to impress their fans with this release, and the way they handle it will be of monumental importance to the future of the franchise itself. Hopefully, we’re going to see a grand revival of the franchise and not something that sends it away into obscurity. There is a lot of potential for that, especially with what we’ve seen confirmed about the game so far.
