Fast & Furious 8 Utilizes Vintage American Cars in Historic Shoot in Cuba!

Incidentally, filming for the “Fast & Furious 8” took place in Iceland in March where it got its first real casualty. But it is not human but a local horse named ‘Jupiter.’

The set was reportedly filming on the frozen Lake Myvatn and the production was using a styrofoam ice props.

When the props were blown as part of the filming, it accidentally hit Jupiter that injured his leg making the animal unable to stand or walk. Given the situation of the horse, where keeping him alive would be more horrible, a decision was agreed upon to euthanize Jupiter.

While Iceland’s Environmental Agency was also monitoring the filming of “Fast & Furious 8”, they were surely not happy that the styrofoam iceberg explosion killed a local horse.

The death of Jupiter will definitely have a negative impact on the film’s relationship with the local government.

As expected the owner of Jupiter was really upset for the death of his horse but it was almost sure that the insurance of the production of “Fast & Furious 8” compensated him for his loss.

Jupiter was innocently grazing nearby when the winds picked up a piece of fake iceberg and slammed into the animal.
