The latest update to the post-apocalyptic role-playing game “Fallout 4” has arrived on the PC on May 2 and the same is expected to roll out to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in a week’s time or two.
While the update, officially called as the Patch 1.5, brought forth excellent changes to the award-winning game as well as bug fixes, gameplay enhancements, and support for “Fallout 4” mods, it also came along with several problems.
There are a number of issues plaguing Patch 1.5 users, especially PC gamers, and critics believe that the same problems will carry over to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 when the update comes out very soon, notes Gotta Be Mobile.
Among the problems that hounded Patch 1.5 of “Fallout 4” include issues with official “Fallout 4” mods, a targeting bug, crashing, inability to open the game, power armor vanishing for no apparent reason, various issues with the Survival Mode, a crafting station bug, broken foliage, other texture issues, and several more.
It seems however that crashes are the most common issue among PC gamers of “Fallout 4.” The Patch 1.5 also did not seem to fix the issues with “Automatron” and “Wasteland Workshop” DLCs, the first two additional contents of the game since it was released in November last year.
Critics wonder why the Patch 1.5 caused a lot of problems when in fact Bethesda Studios released a beta of the update before finalizing a full version.
Another DLC on the way
In addition to the release of the Patch 1.5 this month, game developer Bethesda Studios is also likely to release the game’s next DLC titled “Far Harbor” which would practically change the game completely.
It is likely that the next DLC of “Fallout 4” will be released to the gaming consoles and the PC once Patch 1.5 already rolls out to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 soon.
However, it is also possible that Bethesda might release another update to correct the problems and issues brought about by the Patch 1.5 before the next DLC is rolled out.
“Wasteland Workshop” DLC was released only in April so Bethesda Studios has all the leeway to defer the release of “Far Harbor” from this month to a later time.
A collection of ‘Fallout 4’ screenshots
Meanwhile, a collection of screenshots of “Fallout 4” gameplay map of Commonwealth showed its resemblance to the globe from a first-person view, notes Kotaku.
The screenshot was a panorama photo stitcher on 45 carefully selected screenshots of the game put together to make the unique projection.
But there is an even larger screenshot and it has a file size of about 50MB so it would be a burden to mobile users who like to play “Fallout 4” on-the-go.
Another element of “Fallout 4” that has been causing rave reviews as of late is the Survival Mode which recently became available in the post-apocalyptic role-playing game.
The gameplay mode has made life difficult for gamers on their way to earning XPs and in-game rewards.
However, the Survival Mode came first to the PC version of “Fallout 4” before making it to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One last month.
Before mode’s eventual rollout to the PC, Bethesda also decided to have it undergo beta testing so that both developers and gamers can experience for themselves what are the things that need improvement on the mode or what are those they feel are unnecessary.
The beta testing for the Survival Mode of “Fallout 4” began in the last week of March and Bethesda eventually released the full version to the PC a week later before hitting the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 shortly.
The beta went live earlier than the scheduled release for “Wasteland Workshop,” which is the second DLC for “Fallout 4.”
