Episode 15 of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5 was a Downer Compared to the Mad Rush that was Episode 14, More Details

Compared to the gory but thrilling episode 14 on March 16 of “The Walking Dead” Season 5, episode 15 on March 23 appears to be anti-climactic and failed to sustain the excitement of the previous episode.

Fans were expecting more of a blazing wind-up for the fifth season of “The Walking Dead” after the spine-tingling episode 14 but there was hardly any excitement or a scene that would put viewers on the edge of their seats during episode 15.

Instead, the TV series went back into its passive mode which seems to have been its pitfall during the second half of the current season.

“The Walking Dead” appears to be enjoying a false sense of security if it thinks viewers are getting turned on by its up-and-down in nearly all its episode.

Episode 14 could have been the best springboard for another thrilling and down-to-the-last-gut finish for the horror-drama series’ fifth season but instead, it went back to its dramatic rhetorics at Alexandria, where Rick’s group are getting annoyed over Deanna’s non-combative policies to keep the peace in the sanctuarium.

Few highlights

Whether the producers of “The Walking Dead” admit it or not, it is the battle with the walkers, the near misses, and the occasional deaths among the cast of characters that bring in the excitement to the series, not to mention the televiewers and the ratings too.

It was very obvious from the review of episode 14 where Noah was torn to pieces by walkers as well as Aiden, the son of Deanna. The fans were euphoric over the thrill and gore.

But instead of sustaining the momentum, episode 15 went back to its slow pace yet again that was almost become its pattern from episode 9 to 13.

If there were some highlights during the episode, the one that possibly stood out among most fans is the discovery of Daryl and Aaron of arms detached from their torso and on the ground. When they followed the tracks, it lead to a dead, naked woman strapped to a tree with her guts ripped out. When Daryl held up her head, he saw the letter ‘W’ carved on it, details Yahoo! Celebrity.

The only other excitement, which the show’s producers think was okay but hardly mattered to most fans, is the scuffle between Rick and Pete that spilled over to the streets. Rick was gaining the upperhand only to be stopped by Michone, which was really surprising considering that they belong to the same group.

Talkfest

Other than those two short scenes, episode 15 was a talkfest and it was a downer among many of “The Walking Dead” fans.

There are plenty of things to be explored from the previous episodes but none of those worthy plots came out in episode 15. Morgan for instance, was still a no-show on the very last episode despite showing up on episode 1. The so-called ‘wolves’ have yet to be identified. And there’s still no resolution in sight on how the stalemate in Alexandria would finally be resolved.

The Walking Dead Season 5

If the producers or the show’s director is planning to drop everything in the season finale on March 30, that would surely be a humdinger. However, with a limited time, it is unlikely that all these hanging plots would be explored for episode 16.
