Elder Scrolls 6 not Coming Soon, 2016 Release Under Question: What Will the Game Take from Fallout 4?

Bethesda have been pretty popular in the industry lately, as the studio has been very busy on the development front, coming out with various pieces of news that have been keeping their community very excited. Most recently, they released “Fallout 4” after much anticipation, and the game saw immediate success both on the commercial as well as critical fronts. They are also working on “Dishonored 2” and rumors claim that they are making good progress on that title, and last but not least there are also rumors about a new entry in the “Elder Scrolls” franchise, although we don’t know anything specific about that game yet.

Rumors are claiming that Bethesda have been working on the game for a while now and they have some interesting ideas in store for it, but it’s hard to say which of those rumors are plausible and which should be ignored. There are some prominent claims that the game will take place in Argonia, and that could even be its subtitle, although some have claimed that the place won’t make for a very nice setting for the game, as it’s not exactly very inspiring.

The release date of the game is also under question, and while many fans are hopeful that they will see it in 2016, others are more skeptical of that prospect. After all, Bethesda will first have to announce the title and build up sufficient hype for it – and then one also has to consider the studio’s own schedule. They only have so many developers working on all of their titles, and considering that they just completed the release of “Fallout 4”, it’s probably safe to assume that the studio’s developers have been a bit strained lately and their resources have been limited for working on other games.

And now that “Fallout 4” is out, some fans have been wondering what they can expect from the next “Elder Scrolls” game with regards to the changes that we saw in the post-apocalyptic franchise’s latest installment. There are various possibilities for what Bethesda could decide to carry over from “Fallout 4” into the next “Elder Scrolls”, and it’s actually pretty standard for both franchises to borrow ideas from each other and expand on their gameplay with copied elements.

This actually led to some funny incidents in the past, such as people referring to “Fallout 3” as “Oblivion with guns” when it came out, due to the obvious similarities between both games. Still, Bethesda have done a fine job at keeping the two franchises separate and unique in their own ways, despite the fact that they use the same engine and even share some of their gameplay elements. When a certain idea works well for both games though, it makes sense that it would make its way into the other franchise as well, and because of this, fans are curious what they can expect from the future of the “Elder Scrolls” franchise.

Building custom homes seems to be a pretty big hit with the “Fallout” community, and it’s an idea that would make perfect sense in a “TES” game as well, so we fully expect to see Bethesda implementing it in some way. They don’t even have to change the way it works for the most part, as it’s already a fully functional addition to the game that fits well with the styles of both franchises and can add a lot to the “Elder Scrolls” series as well.
