Downton Abbey Season 6 to End on a Dramatic Note, Is a Full-Length Film Coming afterwards? Let’s See!

The last episode of the sixth season of “Downton Abbey” will also be the conclusion of the show as a whole, and will be aired soon – and as can be expected, fans have been on edge about what’s going to happen once the story is finished. The show has gone through a lot of drama and emotional situations throughout its six seasons, but according to rumors about the finale, it’s going to top everything we’ve seen so far and show some truly dramatic developments.

Hugh Bonneville, who plays the Earl of Grantham on the show, stated that the current season is treated as a bonus by most of the staff, as it wasn’t supposed to be produced in the first place. The original plans for the show called for just five seasons, but the production’s popularity prompted the producers to work on a sixth season, much to the satisfaction of dedicated fans.

And so far, the new season has been turning out great and exceeding expectations about the story’s development. We got to see some very interesting moments so far, but it looks like the best has been saved for the grand finale. While there have been lots of rumors regarding what exactly we’re going to see in the last episode, we don’t know the exact plot details yet and we can only guess – but whatever it is, rumors are claiming that the episode will bring tears to the eyes of fans, so we certainly have high hopes for it.

In related news, it also looks like the end of the TV show might not be the end of the story as a whole, as there have been rumors about a possible full-length movie coming to the screen at some point as a spin-off from the show. We don’t know if that’s true yet, but it would certainly be a smart move by the producers, and one with a lot of potential.

They could easily move the story forward with that movie, or, on the other hand, explore some of the sub-plots presented in the original episodes from a new angle. The storyline of “Downton Abbey” certainly lends itself to a lot more exploration right now, and it would be sad to see the producers deciding to abandon it after the show has concluded.

Hopefully the current rumors about a full movie turn out to be true, in which case we’ll probably start hearing more about that soon enough. After all, they would most likely want to keep the hype alive, which would require them to share some information about the film, even if it’s just to confirm that it’s in the works.
