‘Divergent: Allegiant’ Will Continue to Bank on the Successful Chemistry of Theo James and Shailene Woodley

The third installment on the “Divergent” movie series officially titled “Divergent: Allegiant” will be banking on the successful chemistry of lead stars Theo James and Shailene Woodley and the characters they played in the series as Four and Tris, respectively.

The two will be returning again as they enter the Bureau of the Genetic Welfare and find out something about themselves and the kind of world they live in.

It was reported early this month that the movie will be taking on veteran actors Bill Skarsgard and Jeff Daniels to join the cast of “Divergent: Allegiant” and it is likely that the two are good as in since they already have characters to fill in.

Jeff Daniels shall reportedly play the role of David, the leader of the Bureau of Genetic Welfare, which was responsible for the post-apocalyptic faction-based society. Bill Skarsgard on the other hand is rumored to play alongside Jeff Daniel’s character in “Divergent: Allegiant.”

The characters of Daniels and Skarsgard are expected to appear in the two-part third movie of the “Divergent” film series.

Certified blockbusters

The first two movies of the “Divergent” trilogy titled “Divergent” and “Insurgent” were certified blockbusters. When it was shown last year, “Divergent” made a worldwide haul of $338 million at the box office while “Insurgent” grossed $271 million when it was released on worldwide theaters a few months ago.

It is expected that the two-part third movie will also do well at the tills when they are shown one year apart from each other.

Accordingly, the final installment of the movie based on the Veronica Roth’s novel will dwell on Tris as she decodes the mystery behind the creation of the factions. She will eventually learn later on that the Bureau does not necessarily hold everyone’s best interests at heart.

Robert Schwentke will be back as director for the two-part third movie, whose shooting will reportedly begin this month. Noah Oppenheim will be writing the script while Douglas Wick, Pouya Shahbazian and Lucy Fisher will be producing “Divergent: Allegiant Part 1.”

The second part of the third and final film has been under massive criticisms especially when word got out that Tris will die in the end based on Veronica Roth’s book.

When fans learned of the unhappy ending on the romantic relationship of Four and Tris in the book, they made a petition to change the ending in the movie. Fan efforts however were not enough to dissuade the 26-year-old author to change the fate of Tris in her book, as a matter of conviction.

Veronica Roth was recently asked if she was willing to change the ending and prevent Tris from dying in “Allegiant.” The female author explained that she has actually consulted Shailene Woodley about it and also asked the actress what she thought of the ending. Shailene said that she really enjoyed the way it ended, lending further credence to the conviction of Veronica Roth.

Roth added that she wrote “Allegiant” because she thought that it was the way it needed to be told so she really feels very strongly about her story. She admits that some people feel strongly against her ending but she does not know if the film will make the revision. She however doubts if the movie will do two endings because she believes that no one has ever done that.
