Did the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day Event Really Help the Game, or Is It Doomed at This Point?

It’s entirely possible that a large update could revive interest in the game, but it definitely doesn’t seem like the most likely outcome at this point.

There have also been rumors that Niantic might be looking to sell off their current database that they’re using for “Pokemon GO” so other developers can start a project in the same vein, but it’s hard to tell just how much credibility there is to this claim.

After all, Nintendo also have a vested interest in the current situation and we can’t really see the studio willingly letting go of this property so easily. It’s possible that they might reach some agreement with Niantic, but again, it’s highly unlikely in our eyes, all things considered.

The best thing players of “Pokemon GO” can do right now is sit tight and hope for an update from the developers or Nintendo soon. There is a lot of attention focused on the game despite the relatively low activity in its player numbers, so it makes sense for the studios to want to address the public in some way right now. It could at least help them retain some bit of the current popularity they’re enjoying, in preparation for another release that they might want to bring to the market soon. At this point, we have no option but to wait and see what happens.
