Despite Uncertainty of Season 2, ‘Constantine’ Enjoys a Niche Market

According to the latest viewership figures, “Constantine” had averaged around 3.5 million households weekly. The show ended its first season with 3.3 million viewers, a slight improvement to its series-low penultimate episode with 2.96 million viewers.

The figures gave NBC the impetus to cancel the show for Season 2 after leaving the fans and Cerone hanging for its fate on the network.

Before dealing with The CW, Cerone also worked on convincing NBC to renew “Constantine” for a second season by asking fans of the show can to stream the available episodes of the TV series and sharing them to their friends to do the same.

He explained via his Twitter account then that anyone putting money in the studio coffers by purchasing “Constantine” in any form will surely motivate and convince the network to find a home for the show and produce its second season. Apparently, his strategy for NBC did not work.
