There is so much talk about new superhero movies that the interest in comics and the characters that were created years ago has exploded online. Forums, fan sites and social media has been buzzing for many years now and as long as a new character movie is released each year, the odds are slim that it will be slowing down any time soon. This week, the information about one specific character has peaked and that has the rumors and other speculation flowing once again.
Deadpool is the character in question here and he might be one of the many fan favorites on the list of superheros from DC Comics and Marvel combined. Deadpool is a bad guy, even if you want him on your side, and he first showed up in 1991 and has slowly been working into the antihero role nicely. Deadpool is a disfigured mutant with super healing powers and on top of that, he is mentally unstable in most cases.
He has a tendacy to speak up and mostly out of turn, but with a humorous tone that has his likable factor climbing faster than Iron Man. Back in 2009, X-Men Origins: Wolverine was the movie were Deadpool first showed his face and in that movie he was played by Ryan Reynolds. He did a great job and was liked by many that follow the comics and movies. When the Deadpool movie is released later this year, Reynolds will be in the same role.
In saying that, Reynolds has been making the interview circuit and has been known to talk highly of the Deadpool character. Reynolds also promised that “any fanboy will be proud” when the movie fades to black. Deadpool is easily one of the most anticipated movies of the year and it might have something to do with the fact that the character is so mysterious. That is leaving fans with plenty to think about and hope for when the movie comes to a theater near you. The movie is expected to be opening worldwide on the tenth of February of this year.
The movie is directed by Tim Miller and will star Reynolds next to Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand. Because Deadpool is so popular, the fans out on the internet have been putting together plot theories and fan art over the last few years since he first appeared on the big screen. One excited fan even turned the created a trailer that makes the movie look like a romance movie, bringing out the tragic behind the story. Others have been sharing their artwork online showing Deadpool and other Marvel characters in scenes they created out of love for the superheros.
