‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Confirms Return of Stick to Matt Murdock’s Hell Kitchen!

Season 2 of the American web TV series “Daredevil” on Netflix is now generating more than enough excitement and spoilers on the internet, which only attest to its immense popularity and increasing fan base.

“Daredevil” is based on Marvel Comics and is thus part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which already has a good fan following in the movies and also on TV.

While producers have seen the potential of the superhero drama series on the small screen, Season 1 of “Daredevil” actually caught everyone by surprise with its astounding premiere season in terms of ratings and storylines.

Fans and viewers were all praises for the dark and gritty atmosphere of the TV series that were filled with expertly choreographed fight scenes during the 13 episodes of Season 1. That’s in addition to the very interesting characters of the TV series other than Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, who is the alter-ego of the Daredevil, cites the Christian Post.

A returning character

One of the interesting characters who have been confirmed to return for Season 2 of “Daredevil” is Stick, played by veteran actor Scott Glenn. Apparently, Stick will make his way back to Murdock’s Hell Kitchen in the second season of the popular TV series.

It was actually the Twitter page of the show which confirmed the return of Stick when it posted that the old man is going to be back on “Daredevil” Season 2.

The tweet also came with an accompanying photo showing Stick and Matt sitting side by side on a park bench. There is also a photo of the bracelet which the blind kid made for his master, which was seen lying on the table in front of the photo frame.

Although Stick only made a brief appearance in Season 1, his cameo was quite impactful. His storyline was eventually revealed as to where Matt learned his superb martial arts skills and also honed his body senses.

Matt was actually looking up to Stick as his surrogate dad, more than being a master-student connection, but the old man suddenly walked out of his life.

However, Stick’s return to the life of Matt Murdock is also laden with a hidden agenda and a vested interest. Some of the scenes of Season 2 of “Daredevil” showed Stick appearing in front of Stone, who is presumably a member of The Chaste.

Stick will also find the time to lecture Hell’s Kitchen guardian about going soft as the elderly seems to prefer a fatal way of dealing with things.

In addition to Scott Glen, Elden Hensen, and Deborah Ann Woll, are also confirmed to return to “Daredevil” Season 2 as Foggy and Karen, respectively. The show is expected to premiere on Netflix around April next year.

Another Marvel show on Netflix

Meanwhile, after “Daredevil,” Marvel is set to expand its partnership with Netflix with the launching this coming November of another superhero series on the streaming network.

Based on Marvel Comics, “Jessica Jones” is set to premiere on Netflix. Marvel has already released the first set of pictures of the new TV series, giving the fans an eyeful of what they could expect from the upcoming show.

“Jessica Jones” will star actress Krysten Ritter, as the reluctant female superhero. She will be up against super villain Kilgrave, to be played by David Tennant. Jessica will draw support from another Marvel superhero known as Luke Cage, to be played by Mike Colter, notes Realty Today.

Reports also have it that Luke Cage will eventually have his own Netflix series which will debut in 2016.

One comment

  1. Only wish to make one small observation that Jessica Jones isn’t the THIRD Marvel television series to be produced, but the FOURTH, following (ch ronologically in terms of first airing) Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, then Daredevil.
