Pro dancer Witney Carson feels wonderfully surreal for getting an Emmy Award nomination for outstanding choreography.
While she has had her fair share of highs while being paired with famous celebrities, it is only now that she felt that she is on a different plain after her July 16 nomination by the Emmy Awards, TV’s most prestigious award-giving body.
Witney tells People that the nomination alone is a great honor for herself. She says that she owes a great deal to the celebrities that she has been paired with in “Dancing with the Stars” and she acknowledged that she won’t be getting any nomination if not for her partners.
She also felt incredible and proud for having been nominated in the company of Julianne Hough and Derek Hough, whom she calls as her idols.
Witney was nominated for her routine “369,” “It’s Not Unusual,” and “Sing with a Swing Apache” which she also performed on Season 19 of the show with her celebrity partner, former “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” star Alfonso Ribeiro.
Carson says that she considers Alfonso as like a big brother to her. She said that Alfonso knows how to take a material and really study it so he could be better. She is all praises for Alfonso’s work ethic and his positivity.
A real gentleman and a goofball
During Season 20 of “Dancing with the Stars,” Witney was paired with “The Bachelor’s” former leading man Chris Soules. Witney says that she came to know Chris for more than just being very handsome and very put together. But on the dance floor, he is a gentleman and a goofball because the bachelor likes to joke a lot.
She recalls that the 33-year-old Chris really cranked it up with the jokes during their rehearsals, which was somehow meant to deflect the fact of him being a goofball and super weird too, but in a good way.
Chris got engaged with his final pick in the show Whitney Bischoff in his barn in Arlington, Iowa during the most recent season of “The Bachelor” However, after six months of being together, Chris and Whitney decided to split.
There were rumors that the reason why Whitney has decided to end the relationship with Chris is because her boyfriend is cheating on her with Witney Carson.
Witney, however, denies it by explaining that she and Chris developed a great friendship on the show so they have definitely been keeping in touch with one another. She also knows that Chris is handling and doing excellently well after the breakup between him and Whitney.
“Dancing with the Stars” Season 21 will air on ABC on September 14.
Can’t bust out a move on the dance floor
Meanwhile, bachelor heartthrob Tim Robards may know the way in getting the attention of the ladies but he seems unable to bust out a move on the dance floor.
Robards became the second to be eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars after a rather ordinary effort on August 2. He just scored 22 points out of a possible 40 and finished last on the leaderboard, details News.com.au.
Even after the viewers voted, he was still at the bottom of the table. But Tim said that it has been such a great experience for him to become part of the show, which he told co-hosts, Shane Bourne and Edwin Bartholomew.
Meanwhile, after getting turned down by Caitlyn Jenner, executive producers of “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC are now seriously considering bringing another Kaitlyn for the upcoming Season 21 of the show.
