Continuum Season 4: Production Stuck In Limbo, New Production House should take it off the Table If Shaw Media Doesn’t!

Fans of the Canadian series Continuum are in for some major disappointment. Continuum Season 4 is stuck in a limbo. There has been no news about either a renewal or cancellation. Continuum Season 3 ended in summer this year, and there have been no official news about the future of the sci-fi drama since.

Continuum Season 3 had ended on a cliff-hanger, and this has made the fans restless. They either want a new season or a wrap up so that the fans can find out what happens finally. Shaw Media had said that they would come up with an official announcement regarding Continuum Season 4 in August, but there was nothing.

Continuum aired in the Canadian channel Showcase, owned by Shaw Media. Recently when fans of the series asked the Showcase network about Continuum Season 4 on Twitter, they said that were no announcements yet. They promised to make it public the moment there is any news regarding Season 4.

Created by Simon Barry, Continuum is a sci-fi thriller. It focuses on a group of rebels called Liber8, who time travel to Vancouver of 2012 from 2077. The rebels time travel in order to stop the future corporations from taking over from the government.

The rebels realise that they have been involuntarily accompanied by City Protective Services (CPS) law enforcement officer Kiera Cameron, played by Rachel Nichols. Fighting the Orwellian regime while taking precaution to hide their real identity, Nichol’s Cameron realises that maybe her travelling back to the past wasn’t a mistake.

There were reports from Canadian media that Continuum Season 4 was having some troubles with financing. Although the series has won over critics and fans, there has been a significant drop in viewership. It has been quite popular in the USA and Britain, but the networks haven’t picked up new seasons or aren’t very keen about it given the low ratings for the series since Season 2.

Syfy registered a drop in 30% of its viewership from Season 2 to Season 3. Syfy executive Ted A’Zary said that they were not in any position to make Shaw Media start the series. All they can do is buy the viewing rights for USA, but are not very keen after the drop in ratings.

Continuum Season 4

There are reports that might give a glimmer hope to the fans. Creator Simon Barry is prepared for Continuum Season 4. It looks like Shaw Media is not ready to pick it up. If there are other production houses in Canada or the USA and Britain, where the series has created quite a fan base then Continuum Season 4 is likely to become a reality.

  1. Truthfully, I don’t care who takes it over, as long as Continuum continues with a season 4 and more. As many seasons as Simon Barry needs to tell the story. I love Continuum. It is my favorite show. PLEASE, SOME NETWORK TAKE OVER CONTINUUM, so we can continue for several more seasons! Best show ever! Great story, great characters, great actors! Thanks Simon Barry and all the actors for a fantastic job!

  2. We need to be heard, other than a rally on Twitter we need to call and request it and start posting like crazy, this is the time to be heard. Many people started watching it when it hit Netflix so I’m curious if that affected the ratings.

  3. Yeah,..so many people out here are desperately waiting for ANYONE to pick up the story rite when the GOON SQUAD landed NOW, er, THEN…Iget mixed up….oh yeah, that’s oart if the series’ CHARM ( ALONG WITH THE ACTORS…YAY GUYS AND GIRLS:: JOLLY GOOD SHOW !!♡♥ ).

  4. I have been watching continuum since it aired. I haven’t missed a single episode and have even gone back on the internet to watch them a second or third time.
I think it would b a lucrative venture for Netflix to pick up Season 4. And even to recap Seasons 1-3. They could pick up that 20% easy; due to the people that don’t have cable and only have an Internet connection for television shows.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP THE FANS OF CONTINUUM AND 2077!!!!

  5. I am getting exhausted waiting for a decision. I am worried that the actors will be pulled into other projects and then this will die a death by necessity. It is a great show, and well done. It would be a great tragedy if it doesn’t come back.

  6. Continuum is one of the best shows on tv! Its even cooler for someone from the Vancouver area because we know those streets and landmarks! I happen to live in AZ, but that show takes me home every episode! Keep continuum alive!!!!

  7. I picked this series up on Netflix. It is wonderful. Definitely needs to be continued!! My friends and I really want to see where this creative story takes us.

  8. It’s very important.
    Trust me.
    Just pick it up

“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”

“Look, I know you’re a little scared. And I’m gonna keep it real with you, I’m a little scared too.”

We are here now… we just need someone to pick up “the box!”

“Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try.”

“When you don’t take “no” for an answer, there is still a chance you’ll get what you want.”

“Cameron, dear friend, you thought we wouldn’t have any fun. Shame on you.”

    “Make it so”

  9. Netflix could pick it up; Continuum pulls in ratings comparable to Netflix series. Production costs would be a key factor. As the writer says above, and as others have noted elsewhere, Syfy thinks the ratings don’t justify the cost. So, as always, money talks.

  10. It would be awesome if Netflix picked this series up and decided to complete it… That’s how I watch the show.

  11. Yes, please renew!!! Such an amazing show! Please do not cancel or at least wrap it up with a shortened season. Thanks!
