Playing games while on the move is the quickest and easiest way to while away time. One of the most popular games these days is Clash of Clans. The game has witnessed enormous success since it released back in 2012. It is the work of Supercell, a Finnish game developer.
Within a year of its release, Clash of Clans became the third highest game in terms of revenue generated in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Ever since Clash of Clans, Supercell has launched two other games – Boom Beach and Hay Day. In spite of a limited portfolio, Supercell was able to attract investors like the Softbank from Japan.
Clash of Clans fans will know that the MMO game was down yesterday. As many speculated the reason for this being an upgrade with new features and gameplay, it wasn’t so. It was down because there was a problem with the Clash of Clans server and Supercell had to run a maintenance check to rectify the problem.
Clash of Clans had recently removed the popular Gem boost resource. Supercell realised that their generosity lasted long enough and hence removed the feature. Several fans of the game were under the impression that Supercell would launch a Halloween update, which would bring the Gem boost back into the game.
Those who were hoping that the reason for the Clash of Clans being down was the Halloween update were thoroughly disappointed. Twitter update from the Clash of Clans page said there is “hiccup on our servers, and we need to have a maintenance break to fix it. Thank you for your patience!”
Supercell fans are very excited with the Halloween update and waiting patiently for it. With Clash of Clans being down, a false alarm was sounded about the update being done, but it was soon clarified by the prompt Twitter update by the officials at Supercell.
Supercell has always been very hands-on about keeping fans updated with every issue, and they acted quickly to let them know that Clash of Clans was down for a maintenance check. They have been known to be very quick with their regular maintenance checks, so here’s hoping that this one doesn’t take much long.
In other Clash of Clans news, new 30 sec spots were released, and they are going viral. With the last ‘You and This Army’ video of Clash of Clans having more than 22 million hits, these spots are expected to get more views. The first four days saw more than 8 million views for each of the spots.
