‘Clash of Clans’ Latest Update Getting Downloading Issues on Android Devices; Supercell Offers Quick Fix!

Gamers of the freemium mobile strategy video game “Clash of Clans” using devices running on Android seem to be having a rough time these days downloading the latest updates to their favorite game.

They often run into the error prompt that says ‘Your device is not compatible with this version.’ Some gamers have reportedly panicked upon receiving the message on their devices while those veteran players know right away how to go around and fix the problem.

Finnish developer Supercell knew right away that it was a cache problem on Android since “Clash of Clans” players on iOS devices are not experiencing the same issues.

So to ensure its players on Android devices that it is on top of the situation, Supercell immediately released an advisory on how players could go around the problem using a quick fix which can be found on their Android gadgets.

Supercell stated for the record that the error seems to affect all sorts of Android phones, both new and old with no particular preference towards OS version or smartphone manufacturer, details iDigital Times.

Fixing the downloading issues

In order to fix the problem, the game developer recommends to gamers to navigate to the Settings app of their Android devices. From there, they can open the App Manager where they should select the Google Play Store Option.

They will be faced with two options – a clear data option and a clear cache option. It should reset whatever corrupt data is hiding out in their Android Google Play Store’s cache and allow the gamers to update their “Clash of Clans” to the newest version.

If the strategy does not work, gamers should try signing in and out of the Google Play Store before doing a soft reboot of their mobile device.

If it still does not work, they can resort to the alternative of uninstalling and reinstalling the app, or trying to install “Clash of Clans” via the .apk file.

Accordingly, this is the second time in a row that Supercell has had difficulty in pushing out an update for “CoC” players using Android. The previous update saw Android users encounter a similar problem. The iOS users were able to update their “Clash of Clans” without any problem at all.

The next update and three new features

Meanwhile, the next update to “CoC” is to be called the Treasury Update and it brings with it three new features including the Treasury, the Loot Cart, and the Daily Star Bonus.

There has been no official word from Supercell yet as to when the update will be released but according to Supercell’s community spokesperson, the company has been busy finalizing the update, notes iDigital Times in a separate report.

The Treasury Update is actually a direct response to the complaints and issues that “CoC” players have with the game since the game developer released the Town Hall 11 Update in the middle of December 2015.

Players have taken to Supercell forums and “Clash of Clans” subreddit to voice their objections, complaints, and sentiments with the changes that the developer implemented with the Town Hall 11 Update as well as the new level of difficulty to acquire and keep resources in the game.

Apparently, the biggest change that the Treasury Update will bring will be the Treasury itself as it will be a new resource-protected bank that will be located in the Clan Castle. Loot bonuses acquired from Clan Wars and Star Bonuses will be kept in the Treasury.

The capacity of the Treasury will be determined by the Town Hall and the Clan Perks level. The game developer explained that the capacity of the Treasury will mirror the capacity of the War Loot Storage, which is being removed from the game, at equivalent levels.
