Chelsea Clinton Becomes Increasingly Vocal Against Donald Trump and His Administration on Twitter!

While the battle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton was already over during the November 8, 2016 presidential elections of the US, it seems that former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton is continuing the struggle against the new President and his administration on social media.

Although Chelsea’s political involvement has largely been limited to supporting her parents, she has become increasingly vocal on her Twitter account that was once reserved for retweeting global charities and articles about science news, reports Vanity Fair.

Since Donald Trump took his oath of office on January 20, the young Clinton has repeatedly used Twitter to voice her concerns or issues against the new President and his administration.

It is widely known that Twitter is also the favorite social media platform of the US President.

Last week, Chelsea posted on Twitter an indirect swipe against Trump and his administration by retweeting a post from Greg Sargent, author of The Plum Line blog at The Washington Post, which called for a closer look at Trump’s promise to deregulate Wall Street.

A few minutes later, Chelsea shared her thoughts on the news of an attacker near the Louvre in Paris while wielding a knife. In a one-two punch of a tweet, she offered gratitude that no one was seriously hurt in the Louvre attack, and dismissed Kellyanne Conway’s “Bowling Green Massacre.”

The latter, which was trending on Twitter in Friday last week, referred to Conway’s claim of an underreported massacre by Iraqi refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Conway has since admitted she spoke in error.

Fighting against the immigration ban and more

With the recent directive of President Donald Trump to ban immigrants from at least seven Muslim-dominated countries, the decision was an unpopular one from the US president and sparked an international uproar.

In recent days, Clinton has also supported New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and his efforts to combat the immigration ban. She also called for resistance to the House’s lax legislation of oil companies

It should be interesting to note that there are also rumors going around that Hillary Clinton might run against de Blasio for the mayoralty of the Big Apple in the next local election.

From commenting on the Women’s March on Washington, Trump’s un-American immigration ban, and his horrific National Prayer Breakfast speech, Chelsea’s efforts are certainly getting attention both in the Democrats and the Republicans political fronts.

Eyeing a congressional seat

There are also rumors flying around in US politics these days saying that the reason why Chelsea Clinton is becoming vocal about political issues because she is reportedly eying a congressional seat.

However, some political analysts believe that if Chelsea wins, it would be a disaster for the Democratic Party because another Clinton in public office would broaden the party’s disconnection with the working and middle-class voters and do little to convey a message of change and progression, reports the New York Post.

Analysts think that if the best Democrats can come up with the ‘resistance’ against Donald Trump via social media and they will use Chelsea Clinton for it, the Party is worse off than anyone understands.

Social media critics have also keenly noted that Chelsea Clinton’s Twitter feed has gotten noticeably feistier over the past few days.

Clinton is a prolific tweeter, with 1.3 million followers and her feed is filled with posts about children’s development, women’s health, climate change, as well as new and kind words for fans of her kids book, titled “It’s Your World.”

The tone of Chelsea’s Twitter account has been largely upbeat and, with the exception of supportive tweets about her mother’s presidential campaign, relatively non-political.

Even in the days following Hillary Clinton’s surprising November 8 loss to Donald Trump, Chelsea limited herself to tweets about Veteran’s Day, Michelle Obama, and the dangers of diabetes.
