On the other hand, there will of course be some positive developments in the new season too – Becket will end up getting the promotion that she was originally against, and that might change the dynamics of her relationship with some people.
It might be a bit strange for some characters to refer to her as “Captain Beckett” now, but fans are probably going to get used to the idea. This might also introduce some peculiar changes to the relationships between some characters, although in the end we expect that it will advance the plot in a good way and bring out some interesting nuances in those interactions.
In any case, fans of “Castle” should prepare for a thrilling season 8 as the producers have obviously been working on something very touching and exciting, even more than the seasons before that.
