‘Castle’ Season 8 Ripping Fans of Caskett into Shreds as Kate Moves Out of Rick’s Loft!

Season 8 of the American crime drama TV series “Castle” on ABC is really getting to the nerves and ire of the fans of Caskett, which is how they call Rick Castle, played by Nathan Fillion, and Kate Beckett, played by Stana Katic, combined.

During the second episode of Season 8 of “Castle,” Kate asked from Rick some space to sort out some things in her own life, which is tantamount to splitting up.

According to Kate, she wanted to focus on solving the murder of her mother as well as breaking up a dangerous drug ring. Being the captain and the person-in-charge of the 12th Precinct, she does not want that her marriage with crime novelist Rick to get in the way of all of those things.

As if the split was not enough, the showrunners added more insult to injury when episode 5 aired on October 19 and showed Kate telling her husband that she will be moving out of his loft.

The separate living arrangement was the pinnacle of the heartbreak that fans of the series have gotten in Season 8 over the breakup of Rick and Kate as if they are being ripped into shreds, notes Design & Trend.

Jimmy Kimmel actually mentioned the feeling on behalf of the fans when Nathan Fillion recently guested on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The host said that what “Castle” did was robbed the fans of the relationship of Rick and Kate so soon that it seems like a low blow. Kimmel topped his comments by saying that it seems weird and almost abusive.

Left with no choice

Fans are really getting enraged with the decision of the showrunners to keep Kate and Rick farther away from each other.

This became evident when Kate said to Rick that she had to get all her stuff from his loft and Rick in turn said that she leaves him with no choice but to agree on what she wants.

However, if there is any consolation that the showrunners are brandishing to fans, perhaps in an effort to soothe their ire and pent-up emotions, is that Rick and Kate will not be getting a divorce.

The fifth episode also showed the couple working with a very unlikely witness, played by guest star Stephnie Weir, of a theft crime involving a priceless work of art.

Another attempt at redemption by showrunners to fans during the fifth episode is when the self-proclaimed sniffer woman told Rick that she knows that Kate still has the hots for him, which made Rick happy knowing that he can still get his wife back, though it appears it would not be happening in the next few episodes of ‘Castle” Season 8, details the Christian Post.

But it is definitely going to happen lest the showrunners and the show itself feel the backlash of the greatly agitated fans of the TV series.

Part of the show’s dynamics

The plot to split Rick and Kate in Season 8 of “Castle” is actually part of the incredible dynamics that showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley promised when they took over from Andrew Malone and his wife Terri Edda Miller, at the start of Season 8.

Winter and Hawley decided to take a new approach to the previously unbreakable couple. In a recent interview, Winter said that the new dynamics between Rick and Kate is going to evolve all the way to the show’s fall finale.

He also disclosed that there is going to be another shift and change that’s going to happen which viewers will find incredibly dynamic, which will lead “Castle” to an even more interesting storytelling that will bring both Rick and Kate in a fun way.

Castle Season 7

But the breakup of Kate and Rick has nothing to do with the two no longer being in love with each other or perhaps some other reason.

Kate simply wants to protect her husband because of the ominous and mysterious powers coming after her. She simply does not want Rick to become collateral damage from the threats in her life that she is now getting after assuming his post as Captain of 12th Precinct.

  1. It is just another lie I think to keep the fans hanging on. Bad enough we have to wait 3 weeks before we see a new episode. Then it will be near another extended hiatus. I know lots of fans that if they are not back together before the fall break will not watch anymore .it has become a shell of what it was having Beckett flaunt her legs etc .in her office.,Castle becoming a wimp again and a clueless clown. Hooray for the lowest ratings in the shows history .Way to go writers.

  2. With these two new idiots in charge when they finally get them back together there might not be any fans left around to see it!

  3. I’ve already stopped watching. My daughter still watches but then next episode will be her last as well if they don’t get them back together. This season wouldn’t be too bad if they were still together and working together. The writers are pretty stupid to think that the fans want to watch when they aren’t together.

  4. This is now the worst show on tv this had to be agreed when the sigh new contract lead actors still not getting along they have lost fans from 4million to down to 6 story is a farce no one would believe it castle acts like really in another world no man would put up with the story since they fought crime for 7yrs together and each epo gets worst and worst not beliveable abc exc should start to look for a replacement for the show that’s how bad this show got

  5. It’s a shame that such a fun show is going down in flames because the two leads can’t stand each other. Neither should have signed up for another season.
However, Stephnie Weir (remember her from MadTV?) was super! And the amazing Toks Olagundoye was back.

  6. I love this show, but I’m not happy with the main characters separated. It won’t cause me to leave the show, but I’m afraid it very well could end the series.

I’ve read all of the complaints and agree with many, but they don’t influence me. I want to watch ‘Castle’, but mainly to see Caskett! They’ve pretty much taken that from me this year!

I do agree that Nathan and Stana are no longer friends. It’s fairly obvious. They do nothing together other than perform for the show. They used to be much more.

I’m preparing myself for their cancellation. These new leaders have chosen a path that is very unpopular with fans and they must feel they know best, as they continue despite the moaning of dwindling fans!

I really think Stana is ready to move on anyway! I was super surprised that she signed on for this season! She probably won’t have to worry about having to decide on another season. Fans might decide for her!

I don’t want it to end!
