The British period drama TV series “Downton Abbey” will air its sixth and final season later in the year.
While fans speculate on the possible plotlines and ending for “Downton Abbey,” some of the cast and crew are actually planning to take home some of the props of the show to serve as their keepsakes to remind them of the series sometime in the future.
But apparently, the producers of the show already gave a directive that no cast and crew will be allowed to take home props of “Downton Abbey” even at the end of the filming a few weeks down the road, cites Cartermatt.
It was not clear what the reason behind the order of the producers was. But it is likely that the props were extremely valuable or perhaps just borrowed from a local museum that the producers need to return them back after the filming of Season 6 of “Downton Abbey.”
Still, given today’s technology, there’s a creative way for the cast and crew of the very successful and critically-acclaimed TV series to get keepsakes of the props of the show. All they need to do is to just take plenty of pictures of the props on the set using their smartphones or digital cameras and they can have their remembrance of “Downton Abbey” from there on.
Feel-good ending
Season 5 of “Downton Abbey” on ITV in the United Kingdom had a really good season finale during its Christmas special last year that fans were already thinking that it was to be its last.
After the fifth season, some of the show’s cast members were actually saying that the producers and writers of the series can hardly squeeze any more stories out of it unless they do something drastic with some of the characters or the time element.
Apparently, the writers will be tinkering with the second as latest word has it that the Christmas special of “Downton Abbey” Season 6 will be set in 1925 to give the show a most-fitting and feel-good finish.
Series producer Carnival Films and ITV officially announced Season 6 of “Downton Abbey” on March 26 that would feature eight episodes to begin airing on the latter part of 2015 before culminating with the annual Christmas special that would air on December 25, 2015.
Keeping the fans happy
Just like in the past seasons, each episode of Season 6 will still have that Downton traditional drama and intrigue to keep the fans glued to the show. It would continue building on to give a satisfying and happy conclusion for everyone and also for the loyal viewers of the show.
In a recent interview, co-executive producer Julian Fellowes said that people has been asking him and the characters if they knew what was going to happen in the show after the first Season and he candidly said that they have no idea at all. Five seasons later, the show continues to be the most well-loved and followed series on TV with its huge worldwide following.
