A new trailer for “Captain America: Civil War” is out, and while it shows a good deal of combat footage, it also gave us a glimpse at the current state of the relationships between some characters. Fans are very eager to see some of their favorite superheroes pitted against each other in the dystopian environment crafted by the filmmakers, and so far we’ve been getting some great indicators for the quality of the upcoming release. The new trailer is currently quite the hot topic among fans who’ve been dissecting it almost frame by frame.
With about a month left to go before the film is out, we’re likely going to get even more promotional materials in the coming days/weeks, so fans should brace themselves for a lot of hype. Of course, those who want to get the “full” experience without spoiling anything in advance should probably stay away from most of those trailers, but for most fans it’s still fun to watch them and engage in discussions about what they’ve seen.
It looks like Black Panther and Captain America himself will have a heated battle in the new film, as previewed by the trailer, and while many would expect the Captain to easily gain the upper hand in a conflict like this, it looks like he will actually be in a bit of trouble.
Something else that was hinted by the trailer is that at least one of the characters will be a double agent – it’s not clear who, but Falcon will be aware of the situation to some extent. It was pretty much guaranteed that we would get to see some characters switching sides and being confused over who they want to support, and some fans are actually hopeful that the producers are not going to overdo this trope. As fun as it would be to watch, it’s also a predictable development and has become somewhat clichéd in stories revolving around a major conflict.
A lot of attention is currently focused on the role of Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther, and the special skills his character will possess. There have been some interesting discussions about the possible implications of his suit’s abilities, and it’s possible that we might see this power utilized for non-combat purposes at some point.
It’s also clear that the character will make it through this film as the producers have more plans for him in the future. In a couple of years, fans will actually get to see a film dedicated to the character, but we still have no concrete information about this production. We wouldn’t expect to hear much about it for at least one year anyway, not until the hype around “Civil War” dies down and the production on the next film ramps up. But for now, fans have a lot to talk about regarding the upcoming film anyway, and we’ve seen a lot of activity in those discussions.
Other details that fans have noticed in the trailer include the relationship between Black Widow and Hawkeye – even though they’re shown fighting, there was also a strong implication that they would actually remain friends, so it remains to be seen how the producers are going to handle this. Obviously, the trailer isn’t going to give us the full picture and we’ll have to wait for the actual release of the film to see what the writers have prepared.
