Better Call Saul Season 2 Appearance of Walter White Unlikely, Says Bob Odenkirk!

It has been hyped since last year that Season 2 of the American crime drama TV series “Better Call Saul” on AMC would feature the transformation of Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, to Saul Goodman.

While the first three episodes of the second season of “Better Call Saul” have alluded to Jimmy’s possible transformation to his darker side, his character appears to be having last-minute second thoughts.

During the filming of the recent episodes of the second season of “Better Call Saul,” Odenkirk was asked when viewers will see Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, making his cameo appearance in the TV series, notes The Huffington Post.

Walter White is one of the main protagonists of the critically-acclaimed TV series “Breaking Bad”  on AMC, which happens to be the parent series of “Better Call Saul.”

Odenkirk said that fans and critics should stop hoping that Walter White of “Breaking Bad” will appear in “Better Call Saul.” He said that “Breaking Bad” has not happened yet on the timeline of “Better Call Saul,” and that the spinoff TV series is full and complex. He also describes the show as having different stakes, helluva unique, and a rich experience.

When asked further who among the “Breaking Bad” characters will be appearing on “Better Call Saul,” Odenkirk said that it could be none or all of them. He said that what is important for now is that he and his character is on the show so fans and viewers should join him instead.

Working with Vince Gilligan

Asked to comment about Vince Gilligan, Odenkirk said that the writer and showrunner is an incredibly gentle fellow, a serious one, humble, and intensely hard-working.

The 53-year-old actor says that he takes Vince very, very seriously the way he should be taken. He said that Vince should be taking a vacation once in a while because he feels bad that he sacrifices so much of his time for his art, the way great artists do.

During the third episode of “Better Call Saul” that aired on February 29, Jimmy was seen performing his duties as head of client outreach in a very singular Jimmy manner.

Fast-talking but congenial as ever, Jimmy was able to succeed in wooing the bus with his metaphor of overcharged buttermilk biscuits, placing himself as the helpful nephew who sets it right, details Pop Matters.

Because of his speech, the old folks on the bus are mesmerized, eager, and excited to fill out Jimmy’s forms and become clients of the helpful and benevolent people at Davis & Main law firm.

The season’s big bad

But his older brother Chuck, played by Michael McKean wondered how Jimmy was able to increase the client pool so quickly. He may have the right reasons to be wary since Jimmy’s techniques do lean a little too generously toward solicitation rather than getting a high-profile case in the process.

It also becomes clear that Chuck is the big bad in the current second season of “Better Call Saul” as a scheming and jealous big brother.

While Chuck is the precipitator of Jimmy’s dark side, Kim, played by Rhea Seehorn, is Jimmy’s conscience in the show.

During the third episode, she admonished Jimmy for whatever went down in Texas, reminding him once again that the kind of rule-bending could lead to disbarment. She also reminded Jimmy how far she stuck her neck out for him and how much they both stand to lose if Jimmy would not or could not play by the rules.

Critics described the premiere episode of Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” that aired on February 15 as a solid return for a popular and critically-acclaimed TV series as it becomes clear that the showrunner and show writers are determined to explore the hows of Jimmy McGill’s eventual transformation into Saul Goodman.

The premiere episode of Season 2 picks up moments before the end of Season 1 as Jimmy is featured grappling with the realization that he does not need to appease his lying older brother anymore and can be just as felonious as he desires.

Better Call Saul Season 2

Jimmy also shuts down the offer to join a new law firm. Subsequently, he was seen asking rhetorical questions to Mike, played by Jonathan Banks, on why they did not just keep the million dollars when they had it in their grasp.

The first episode of Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” practically revolved around Jimmy’s relationship and attachment to Kim, and Kim to Jimmy.
